Three New Beauty Products

As much as I am a creature of habit, I also like branching out and trying new beauty products. Often times I return to the tried and true (mascara), and other times I love constantly switching it up (shampoo).

Recently I've tried three new items that I wanted to share here.

ONE
Beautycounter Nourishing set. My friend Alicia stuck a sample pack of this line in my mailbox recently. Last night I used all of the nighttime products (cleanser, exfoliant, eye cream, night cream) and this morning I will be using the day cream and eye cream. I am going to use this set for the next few days and report back on Friday with how I'm liking it. I will say that last night I was surprised at how smooth my skin felt after the exfoliating polish because it really is not a harsh, rough scrub like some of the others I've used.

TWO
Added a new blush to the mix! I'm a diehard Bobbi Brown blush girl (in Pale Pink, natch) but I have also been using this Tarte blush in Paaarty to add a little depth. So I put it all over my cheeks and then just add a pop of the bright pink right at the apples of my cheeks. Paarty is also a nice color if I'm going a little more low-key with my overall makeup.

THREE
Postpartum hair is no joke -- losing all of that hair made such a noticeable difference in the overall thickness of my hair. I did lop off 6" recently in order to boost the volume of my hair, and I also ordered this Jason Thin to Thick extra volume shampoo after reading all of the AWESOME and promising ratings. Everyone said that after 1-2 months of using it, they noticed a remarkable change. I order mine from Grove Collaborative, but you can also find it on Amazon.

Are there any products that you've been wanting to try out that you'd want me to review here?

  1. Please report back on how you like the shampoo! My hair is finally growing back in, but it's slow as molasses. Anything that can make it thicker is a WIN!

  2. I am going to try that shampoo! I'm past the losing my hair phase but my locks are definitely not thick like they were during pregnancy and nursing. And now I have the oh so lovely one inch baby hairs as it regrows.

  3. I NEED to try that shampoo. I have lots of very fine hair, so it sounds awesome! I have been on the hunt for a good drugstore blush. I've had the same MAC compact forEVER and just need something new/good/pretty/inexpensive, etc. I'm gonna try this one http://milanicosmetics.com/Baked-Blush.html in Luminoso thanks to a Refinery29 post!

  4. Thanks for the shampoo recommendation. My hair is always too fine and thin so I'm always looking for something to boost the volume. I need to just chop it!

  5. I like Tarte blush as well... good stuff. I have been struggling with incredibly dry post-partum skin this time... like flaking on my cheeks/chin that will NOT go away no matter what I do. I bought this on a whim at the grocery last week as I know hyaluronic acid is really moisturizing without irritating my super sensitive skin (https://www.amazon.com/Neutrogena-Hydro-Boost-Gel-Cream-Extra-Dry/dp/B00NR1YQK4/ref=sr_1_fkmr0_1_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1487015597&sr=8-1-fkmr0&keywords=neutrogena%2Bhylaunic%2Bacid&th=1). I've been using this UNDER my regular moisturizers/oil/sunscreen and I think it's the ticket. Finally helping my skin be less flaky with zero irritation.

  6. postpartum hair loss is no joke. Every morning I about have panic attack when I see how much hair is in my brush...It is awful! Will have to try this stuff out to see if it makes my hair look any fuller.
