Our New Years Eve was awesome -- good, good times. After last year's stellar private dining experience with Bon Vivant Culinary, we jumped at the opportunity to book Chef Garrett Tallent again. I know the idea of an in-home chef sounds pretty fancy-schmancy, but the cost is right in line to just about any restaurant's prix-fixe dinner you'd find in your city on New Years Eve. Plus, we just brought our own wine and champagne, we didn't have to worry about parking, and we were around the corner from our home! No babysitter even needed -- we brought Camille over early and put her down in a close bedroom and just kept the monitor close by.
The menu this year was delicious -- passed hors d'oeuvres while we sipped and mingled, an iceberg wedge salad, filet with fingerling potatoes and haricots verts, and a flourless chocolate torte with champagne for dessert.
The food was just impeccable. Delicious!
Right before midnight, my friends came over to me with a cookie with a candle in it and sang Happy Birthday.
Looks like so much fun! And so delish! What a perfect way to ring in a new year and celebrate a birthday!:)

ReplyDeleteI love the idea of a chef at home! What a perfect balance of glam and ease! Do they do the dishes too?!
ReplyDeleteLove this idea and completely agree about an in-home chef!! It's a great way to entertain for a party and when split amongst guests, it typically comes out the same as dining in a nice restaurant. Looked like the perfect way to ring in the new year and celebrate your bday!!
