Just Curious

Happy Friday Eve!

Riddle me this.

Why did you begin blogging?  What was the deciding factor where you just thought, "I'm kicking off this project today!"?  And what was the one blog that kick-started it all for you?

I first fell in love with Nie Nie and then started branching out and finding other great blogs.  I never commented on posts -- I didn't have a Blogger account set up.  I enjoyed being a silent blog stalker.  :)

One day in the kitchen Ian asked me why I didn't have a blog.  He told me that he always thought I had interesting and funny things to say and that it would be a fun, creative outlet for me.

He was probably trying to get me to turn off the TV so he didn't have to overhear the Real Housewives bickering.

But it stuck!  Almost 8 months later, and I have had the best time with this blog.

So, what's your story?  What was your first favorite blog?  What made you create your own?

  1. Like you I have been a "silent stalker" for a while.  I first started reading a blog about Victoria Beckham 3 years ago…don't judge :)  From there I kept clicking on links to other blogs, and more blogs from those blogs, you get the picture.  The start of 2011 brought a lot of new things into my life: I took my 1st trip to the Philippines (where my mom is from) and I was looking to move into my first apartment without a roommate.  I thought blogging would be a fun project and outlet to document the changes in my life as well as pass on some of my favorite fashion finds.  I'm still not very good at posting regularly due to my hectic schedule, but I'm hoping that by the end of the year I can start writing 2-3 posts per week.  I don't know who's reading my blog (other than my friends), but I hope that one day I can reach a wider audience and maybe someone will be inspired to start a blog because of what they've read on mine.

  2. i was definitely a silent blog stalker for a time, too :)

i mainly started blogging, because i love writing and didn't feel i was writing nearly enough (or i should say, i as writing a lot-but only essays which are not nearly as fun). as well, i read so many great blogs (like yours!) that made me want to write as well! i definitely have to say though that blogging has quickly become a favourite thing in my life, now.

  3. I started reading my sorority sister from college's 'Mommy blog' and really enjoyed it even though I didn't have kids.
I, set up my blogger site but didn't do anything with it for 3-months.
I originally planned for it to be a hiking blog to talk about different trails around the region as a reference for other hikers. BUT..it has turned into something different.

  4. Not sure how I came across it, but the first blog I ever started reading was ClemsonGirl and the Coach. She is SO stinking funny, and through her blog I was introduced to so many others! I have always been one who loves writing, so I figured I could give it a try, too! It's become a great outlet.

  5. Haha very cute. I first started reading a wedding planning blog. I think I googled a nautical "Tying the knot" something or another and found a girls blog (which I still follow), and it led me to other blogs. I didn't start blogging until 2009, but have had fun with it ever since!

  7. I love that Ian was your influence! M was part of my influence too :)

I blog because I love it. I love to write. I love to read. I love to share. I love to learn. Most importantly, I love to grow. Call me a cheeseball, but you know you still love me :)

  8. I read blogs for a long time before I started writing one as well... mostly Kristina Horner and Lauren Fairweather. Then I wrote a blog for my and my fiancee's families during our engagement to let everyone know about the wedding and to introduce long distance family members to each other. A year after our wedding, I missed blogging and started my current blog.

  9. I love this! I, like you, was a silent blog stalker of "Let The Tide Pull Your Dreams Ashore." I don't even know how I stumbled upon it, because, before entering the blog world I thought it all sounded kind of weird (obviously, my opinion has changed now). After reading and reading her posts, I thought "I could do this" and a few days later took the plunge and am so grateful I did!

  10. Good morning! Thank you for sharing useful information in this post, as I couldn't have found anything about it, and I really like to read this blog! But one day I had to write urgently a large essay on literature but there was absolutely no time. Fortunately I found a great https://essaysrescue.com/prime-essay-review/ essay writing company. I got a good job in a short period. Definitely would recommend and will be use it again and again in the future.
