Fourth of July Recap

Happy birthday USA!
We had a fantastic long weekend.  Waking up to an alarm clock after a holiday is rough, but at least you can take some comfort in knowing that a short week is ahead of us!

After a perfectly low-key Friday night (sidenote: Crazy Heart is amazing!), we spontaneously decided to join some friends at their Lake Wylie lakehouse on Saturday.  We took the boat out and headed to the sandbar, where there was a big party going on complete with bands playing on the top of a houseboat.

A free-floating BBQ shack near the sandbar - great idea!

I was the DD all day ... taking the helm!

My paparazzi husband loved that I was driving the boat!

On Sunday, we celebrated the 4th by biking down the street to an ampitheater that hosts the Charlotte Symphony for weekly summer concerts called Pops In The Park.  We packed a delicious picnic meal and some prosecco and sat on a quilt to listen to patriotic symphony music and enjoy the fireworks.

He's tough.  Biking our way to the ampitheater

Can't have a proper picnic without great cheeses!

The boys ... oh, the boys.  Cheesin' it up.

The Charlotte Symphony

It was packed!  They had a great turnout.

This is one of my favorite events of the year.

As the night darkened, the ampitheater looked gorgeous.

Hope you had a great 4th weekend ... I know one person in particular who REALLY had an amazing weekend ... Classic Annie ... congrats on your engagement!!!
