6) Drive around in jammies and look at the pretty Christmas lights! We have a gorgeous home around the corner from us and they go ALL out, including Santa chatting with kids out front!
7) Make Christmas-themed slime. Recipe HERE
8) Choose a name from the Angel tree and talk about why Christmas is about giving and thinking about others. If this isn't an option, have each child pick out a few toys to donate and drop them off at your charity of choice. Jackets, gloves, and hats are also appreciated donations this chilly time of year.
9) Buy a can of fake snow and paint your windows when the kids are sleeping.
10) Bake cookies for neighbors and let the kids attach some art to the tin!

ReplyDeleteSo many fun options! I laughed at your perfectly applied gingerbread icing comment. I had to simmer down when we were making ours because I was trying to alternate colors and do patterns. My kids just wanted to add all the candy everywhere. We've had the best time making jingle bell wreaths and Christmas tree playdoh. I'm hoping to squeeze in a little more holiday baking this week.

ReplyDeleteEvery year, I buy a box of candy canes and attach an uplifting message to each one. Then I take the boys to the mall or a shopping center and tell them to hand them out to whomever they think could use some Christmas cheer. It's always fun to see the joy on people's faces when they get an unexpected surprise from a child. :)
