Five On Friday

It's time for another edition of Five on Friday and I do hope you'll join along!

Remember, all you have to do is post about five things on your mind, add our logo (found at the bottom of this post), and join the party using the linky tools below. Easy, and a great way to find new blogs and be found. :)

You may have seen on Snapchat that I now am the proud owner of a monogram/embroidery machine! My mom gave me one for my birthday. I've been having a good time stretching my brain trying to figure out all of the bells and whistles (and also getting a good lesson or two in patience along the way). I would love to do a blog post soon where we can all share information since it seems like several of you also own one ... or would like to. I've already received some awesome advice from a handful of you. Stay tuned for that post!

I am in desparate need of a new phone case. Anyone have any good recs? Ian wants me to get one of those rubbery, military grade indestructible phones because, you know, TODDLERS. I want one that is "cute." Is there a good meet-in-the-middle version? I saw this Speck one and am curious if anyone has experience with it?

One of my college besties is having her little boy any day now! Godspeed to her! I told her last night that I loooooved having babies and would do the delivery over and over again if I could. Heck yes, with an epidural again please, but what an awesome experience it was.

I can't wait to share some photos next week of the little girls that we had taken on Wednesday! I even got a chance to hop in a few photographs. The weather was beautiful and the girls were so cooperative and perfect. It helps that our photographer is a mom to four kiddos and knows exactly what to say and do to get that impish little grin captured on film!

Remember that today is the last day to get 25% off of your Bella Tunno order using code SMIDGEOFTHIS25. The code expires tonight at midnight. I really appreciate the Bella Tunno ladies allowing me to pass on a discount to you for a bag that is truly gorgeous (and priced well to boot).

TGIF y'all, and hope you will join in on Five on Friday this week! Cheers to the weekend!

  1. caseology makes a great durable case. I also highly recommend the tempered glass screen protectors. You can order a set of 2 for like $5 on amazon and they are wonderful. I don't mind if it breaks because at $5 for 2 i can easily replace it. I have dropped my phone numerous times and nothing has ever happened to the actual phone. The case and screen protector really work! Have a great friday!

  2. I love my speck case. I have tried the big boxy ones and hated them! The speck is the perfect combination of protection and cuteness. (added bonus: tj maxx usually has a big selection of them!) Also, I am so glad you got the snag on the machine fixed the other night but I was cracking up about the wine! Been there!

  3. LOVE speck. I'm on my second one (only because I got tired of the first), and I actually have the one you posted above! I have two littles under 5 & work remotely so my phone goes through everything. Going on 2 1/2 years! (Knock on wood)

  4. Can't wait to see the pictures you guys took!! And girl I want the delivery you had. It is going to take a lot of forgetting before I get pregnant again haha

  5. I am a complete phone klutz and swear by Otterbox. They have gotten a ton less bulky lately and they are amazing - I dropped phone out of a plane onto tarmac last summer and zero damage - that's a good case!

And I can't control my jealousy over the monogrammer! #goals

  6. I have had great luck with my Speck case. I am an architect and spend lots of time on construction job sites. I have dropped it from a ladder, on concrete, etc. and not had an issue. I have a simple speck case that does not have a screen cover. I just ordered one of the glass protector screens from amazon (they come 2 to a pack) and use my speck case with it and have had zero issues! I have cracked the glass protector screen but never has my actual phone screen cracked!

  7. That quote made me laugh. I certainly don't see enough monogramming up here in Boston like I did in CHS!!!

  8. I've dropped my phone more times than I can count and have never had an incident *knocks on all of the wood* -- Sonix & Rifle Paper Co are my go-tos...they have a lip on the edge of the case and super cute patterns. This is the one I got because it reminded me of champagne ;) https://www.gilt.com/brand/rifle-paper-co/product/1173473425-rifle-paper-co-champagne-iphone-7-case?origin=partner_feed&utm_source=google&utm_medium=CPC&utm_campaign=PLA&gclid=CJ-715fKutICFVZYDQodgzkECA

  9. I purchased the speck one (in pink) and I had kept it in my jean pocket. As a result, the case turned black/blue. I was heartbroken. I got the Extra Protection Tough Case from Caseapp and LOVE it. I drop my phone all the time and this case has been great. So jealous that you have your own monogramming machine. If I had the space, I would so get one.

  10. I've always wanted to buy a monogramming machine so I'd love to hear how your experience is going. (Kinda wish I had bought one and learned to use it before having children though. Oh well.)
Also, where did you get that really cute green and white shirt you were wearing while modelling the Bella Tunno bag on Instra Story?

  11. Yay for a monogramming machine! My SIL just got one, and I'm hoping that I can use it a little bit. Also, can't wait to see pictures of you and your girls!

  12. Lifeproof cases! I had an otterbox for YEARS because I am not the best with my phone (I'm pretty clumsy) and recently switched to lifeproof. It has the indestructibility of otterbox without the heft/weight. Plus, lifeproof is also waterproof (otterbox isn't) which is also helpful in case of spills.

  13. I need a phone case sooo badly! Thanks for the recommendation!

  14. I switched over to one of those wallet iphone cases and LOVE IT. I now travel so light, just keys and my iphone/wallet. it is super convenient. I got this one http://amzn.to/2m47Hro and it is just the right size. Holds a couple of cards, $20 and your phone, but still fits in the pocket of most jeans/jackets. www.hopepostkids.com

  15. The people at the apple store promised me this case is toddler proof. I've had it for about 2 months and so far so good- survived toddler drops, parking lot drops (Me), etc. I had one of the bulkier otter boxes with my last phone and have been 100% satisfied with their products (even if they are a bit on the pricey side.)

  17. Otterbox! I'm not a Lifeproof fan because it always seemed to mess with the speaker.

  18. That machine is SO awesome! Definitely looking forward to hearing more about it! I don't have any good recs on a phone case, but I'm like you, I like to have a cute one rather than a durable one. So I've found that as long as I purchase a Zaag glass screen to protect my phone, then the case at least covers the edges. Then if it gets dropped and the screen cracks, it's just the screen protector and they offer free lifetime replacements. So it's a win to me! Hopefully I'm not telling you something you already know! ;)

  19. I have a Speck case and it has been great with toddlers!

  20. Hands down, Loopy case is the best! I have people ask me about it all the time.

  21. My mom has a couple of monogram machines (Husqvarna) and I toy with getting one from time to time. Hers seem to be somewhat of a pain. I'll be anxious to watch your journey and see if yours seems better. Maybe you'll push me over the edge😉 I have a Lifeproof case that's supposed to be practically indestructible #goodforatoddlermom. I like to put a vinyl monogram on the back to jazz it up. You can order them on Etsy. I have a Silhouette machine and can cut my own. I've had trouble applying them to my current case but in the past they've gone on great.

  22. This is wonderful! This looks awesome. But why you should not save you time by using Men Embroidery Designs . It saves your time and also gives high-quality designs. Thank you
