Five On Friday, Yee Haw!

It's time for another edition of Five on Friday and I do hope you'll join me in linking up your five this week! As a reminder, my cohostesses DarciChristina, and Natasha are currently on "summer break" for the link-up but they will return!

Remember, all you have to do is post about five things on your mind, add our logo (found at the bottom of this post), and join the party using the linky tools below. Easy, and a great way to find new blogs and be found. :)

And before we get to it all, thank you all so much for your sweet words on yesterday's post. I definitely needed to vent! I responded to everyone who left me a comment on the post since I was noticing a lot of people don't have their email address linked to their account.

First things first, I am lakehouse bound later today and I get to see one of my very favorite people and her daughter who I have NEVER MET! She is over a year old now, and it is just crazy to me that I haven't ever held that sweet baby! I absolutely can't wait to get my hands on her and just love on her!

Just for fun, a few old-school photos of the friend I will be seeing this weekend. They are from 2003 (senior year) and 2004 (homecoming). Over ten years old. In the first photo below we are are on the far right.

My mom came up to visit this week and brought some of the most delicious Mexican casserole for us to have for lunch! She found the recipe here. I can't wait to make this soon -- Ian is going to go crazy over it.

Easy Mexican Casserole. My changes: do not drain canned ingredients, use less chips, cook in only one layer.*

A fun little tidbit that I forgot to mention in last week's five, but that is a biggie ... I paid off my car last week! I still owed a pretty good chunk of change on it, so I was having a significant amount drafted out of my account each month, but I decided to just bite the bullet and march up to the bank and just take care of it. It felt great to just put a checkmark in that category and be done with that monthly payment.

Lastly, a quick beauty-related note. I have used the Philosophy Purity facewash for YEARS. Recently I have heard great things about CeraVe -- specifically, that it comes highly recommended by many dermatologists, even over very pricey brands or prescription formulas. I found myself at the drugstore last weekend and was unsure whether to choose the one for normal/oily skin or normal/dry skin. I ended up going for the normal/dry skin version because I figured if it was more hydrating, that would be a good thing for my wrinkles and fine lines. So far I have been really pleased with this facial cleanser, and I love that it has a pump! When my contacts are out, I'm blind as a bat, and I've got water dripping from my face, the pump makes my life EASY and that is a good thing.

And for the record, now that I've seen the prices for this on Amazon, I definitely won't be purchasing from Rite-Aid any longer!

TGIF y'all, and hope you will join in on Five on Friday this week! Cheers to the weekend!

  16. I've used that cleanser before! I really liked it, and it wasn't too spendy at Target...but I've been realizing lately that SO MUCH of the stuff I buy at Target I could buy for way cheaper on Amazon! I've started checking both places to see where the deal is better. :) I might have to buy it again after my current stuff runs out!

  18. I LOVE CeraVe - also recommended by my dermatologist. I also use the CeraVe AM Facial Moisturizing Lotion. It has SPF 30, so first I put on my Aczone, then this, then I start applying my makeup. LOVE CeraVe products!
