A Simple Twist on Premade Margarita Mix

Popping in for a quick moment to share an awesome cocktail you may want to try this weekend. Or, tonight! :)

We have a VAT of premade margarita mix in our fridge. The bottle is huge. It just tastes so generic, so I've been experimenting around with ways to snazz it up a bit.

Last night I muddled some fresh blueberries at the bottom of a glass with a small dash of simple syrup. On top of that muddled goodness, I added a shot of tequila and ice and then filled it up with the mix. The mint from our yard added a nice minty flavor to this blueberry lime margarita.

So very easy, and you could sub different muddled fruits and herbs for different tastes. A rosemary peach margarita maybe? Or a cilantro pineapple margarita!?

Bottoms up!

  1. I really like tequila but can't do margarita mix anymore. Yuck! (and way too many not-worth-it calories!) I drink it with a little fresh juice (orange or grapefruit) and a squeeze of lime, or with ginger beer and lime juice. I haven't ventured out into herbs with my tequila but do love gin-grapefruit-rosemary and vodka with basil/mint/etc.! Cilantro would be awesome with tequila I'm sure!

  4. Yum! I never think of blueberry with drinks for some reason, but I don't know why not! So good!
