Thoughts On Tuesday

There is no shame in being nice

Okay, let's see here, random thoughts this Tuesday.

First of all, that graphic above ... what do you think are the three most important things from the list to actually do? For me, it would be: 1) smile at strangers. 2) say thank you. 3) observe and listen.

I have set some health goals for the month of February. I mean, it's the shortest month ... the perfect month for setting a few achievable yet challenging goals. I'll share these later this week and would also love to hear about one or two goals you're working on yourself. That is always very inspiring to me, to get ideas from others.

A very small change to the blog which I hope will be helpful: I've changed my blog settings so I can now respond to questions directly in the comment area. I am not sure why, but I've noticed an increasingly large amount of commenters who don't have their email address tied to their commenting username. That means that I am emailed your comment, but I can't respond to you. This way, you can check back with any questions you've asked me and I will answer it right underneath your comment. If you have a blog and you want to be able to do the same thing, this is the tutorial I used.

Wanna test it out? Ask me a question and I'll answer it below. :)

And, just because this makes me happy.

  1. smile at strangers -- my favorite! bostonians need to take a lesson on that one. ;) i need to work on giving compliments. i always think then in my head, but never remember to voice them. then later i think about it like "darn, i should've told her i loved her new hair cut!"

  2. as shallow as it may seem, dress nicely would be the first, because it's the first step to being in a good mood when you walk out the door. it's the easiest way to start your day off fresh and in a good space. if i look gross, then i feel gross. but then, give compliments and laugh would maybe be my next two!

  3. I completely agree with Kristy that dressing nicely is the first step to setting a good mood for me. Second I would say is to smile at strangers. I love grinning and waving to as people I pass (or pass me) when I am running. Just spreads a little joy!

  4. I've just started Jillian Michael's 30 Day Shred and I'm going to try to do the 30 day plank challenge as well. Can't wait to hear your goals for Feb!

  5. I LOVE monkeys and orangutans! They are so freaking cute! I love the first image...I always smile at strangers - you never know what they're going through!! Slowing down and wearing mascara are also at the top of my list! :)

  6. I think my three would be to slow down, give lots of compliments and dress nicely. I am ALWAYS in a better mood when I feel put together. And usually, when I am in a good mood, I am not rushing:) Those two seem to go hand in hand. And compliments? Well, everyone likes a compliment and if I can brighten someone's day just a bit by giving one, then I am going to do it!:)

  7. I love to smile at strangers, especially if they look like they're having a bad day! And I also wave to those mascots standing/dancing on the side of the rode. haha

  8. That monkey picture is so hilarious/adorable!

    And from that graphic, the three most important to me would have to be;
    1) Say thank you.
    2) Smile at strangers.
    3) Laugh

  10. Slow down, give lots of compliments, and laugh... sounds like a great day to me! I'm starting c25k on February 15. I'm also going to cut grain and sugar out of my diet (they affect me negatively...I realize that's not for everyone). Cute monkey pic!

  12. Love the quote! You did such an amazing job on the news. I would have been so nervous. You're a natural! Also, I'm thinking of making my own baby food. My son is 4 months so we are almost there. What age did you start and do you like using the baby blender?

  13. I only recently discovered that my email was blocked so I was a no-reply comment person! But I changed my personal settings, but I love nested replies. I use Disqus for commenting on my blog and I really like the format!
