Fall Fashion Forecast

This past Sunday was a real treat -- I was invited as a VIP guest to our Junior League's Lights! Camera! Fashion! event. Mary Lauren (above) from the Junior League reached out to me about the fashion show at Belk in South Park Mall and was wonderful to work alongside for the ticket giveaway on my blog.

What an evening it was! The VIP hour began at 5pm and they had cocktails, wine, beer, passed hors d'oeuvres, crudites, mini cupcakes, and pecan pie bars (fellow attendees: I'm truly sorry for eating more than my fair share of them, I really am).

Attendees could enter into various raffles -- Lilly Pulitzer gifts, a week in a beachfront condo, tickets to the Michael Buble concert, sporting events, wine tasting parties, haircuts, Flywheel packages, the list goes on! Additionally, there was a separate raffle downstairs where one lucky winner walked away with a gorgeous pair of diamond earrings. Sadly - I'm still waiting for that call. :)

A live jazz band played for attendees as they mingled and sipped in preparation for the fashion show.

The show itself was quite a treat. Special guests included Tai Beauchamp, Style Ambassador with In Style Magazine, as well as a professional makeup artist from Laura Mercier.

After the fashion show, I checked out the Laura Mercier station where girls were getting beautified.

Outside of the more obvious fashion trends shown on the catwalk, here are some other must-haves that I picked up on for the upcoming seasons:

+ Booties and tights

+ Tassel necklaces (they were all over!)

+ Long hair with loose curls

+ Mixed textures

+ Ladylike silhouettes

Did you have a favorite look from the show photos? I just loved the all-ivory look with the slouchy sweater, the one-sided leopard pants, and the long-sleeved cocktail dress with the printed front. Gorg.
