I have been told by my husband that I have a flair for the dramatic.
I'm pretty sure he was alluding to the fact that I love black liquid eyeliner.
Pretty sure.
Hmm.
I've been wearing black liquid liner for as long as I can remember. Well, at least since it was approved by my mother for me to take it up a notch from clear mascara and Bonne Bell lip gloss. So yeah ... like senior year of high school ;)
After trying several brands, I've come to the conclusion that I prefer a felt-tip liquid eyeliner.
My favorite now is L'Oreal Lineur Intense felt tip eyeliner in Carbon Black (BOGO 50% off currently with that link). It's the top left version seen above.
The reasons why I love this one so much: it is extremely precise during application; it does not flake; it is long-lasting; it comes off easily with face wash; it doesn't break the bank!
Also, the L'Oreal folks would probably want me to remain mum about this little tidbit I found out, but here goes: when the eyeliner starts getting sparse and a little dried up, add a small drop or two of water (seriously, you don't need much at all) right to the tube, replace the cap, and give it a good shake. It will buy you a lot more time before you're officially out -- several weeks more at the very least.
Are you a fan of liquid eyeliner? Do you, like me, have a flair for the dramatic?
This is a great post! I love hearing about other peoples hair/makeup routines and am always looking for something new. I usually don't wear eyeliner, and I've only worn liquid liner a handful of times. I'm so bad at applying it - I aim for a teeny, tiny, thin little line, and end up covering half of my eyelid! All I want to do is make my lashes look thicker, so I try to get it ONLY at the base of my lashline but it just doesn't work out! If I knew how to apply it better, I'd probably wear it!

Yes! It's all I can wear! Pencil or anything else ends up making me look like I've been crying!!
ReplyDeleteI use that exact same liquid liner and I agree about the felt tip-- it's great! I don't wear it during the day to work and whatnot, but I wear it every time I go on a social outing or at night and think it makes a huge difference!
ReplyDeleteI am currently using the stila :) I use liquid when I go out "out" and regular when I'm just running errands etc. great post!
ReplyDeleteI'd love to see how you use liquid liner...I've never been able to master it!
ReplyDeleteI feel like I can't apply it right.. and with my super-fair complexion, adding even the smallest bit too much makes me look like a hooker!! (Scary but true!) Therefore, no eyeliner for me :)
ReplyDeleteI use the same L'Oreal kind that you do for my upper lash line and Bobbi Brown gel liner for my lower lash line. Do you line both top and bottom?
ReplyDeletesame, i ONLY wear liquid black liner. ive tried several but for some reason NYC (yes the cheapo brand) is my fav!!
ReplyDeleteI've been on the hunt for new black eyeliner so I might have to try this- I need an eyeliner that actually stays on during the day!
ReplyDeleteI have tried liquid eye liner a few times but I always end up getting it in my eyes! Eek! lol Maybe I should try again?
ReplyDeleteI'll be honest, I would try this stuff, but I don't trust it around my contacts at all. YIKES
ReplyDeleteUgh I so wish I could wear black eyeliner but I always end up looking like a hooker. Maybe I should revisit now that I'm older and less makeup illiterate!
ReplyDeleteLancome Artliner is my go-to when I use it! These days I'm a little more natural, but I love to add it for nights out for dinner etc. :)
ReplyDeleteI have never tried liquid eyeliner before, but I definitely think that I might need to now. xo
ReplyDeleteI was never able to do liquid liner until I tried the YSL felt tip pen one...makes it super easy. love it! I'll have to try your L'Oreal one next!
