First up: what we refer to as "the fish light."
A few Mothers Days ago, I was down at the lakehouse and we were changing some things up on the screened porch. We switched the positioning of the picnic table and wanted it to feel like a space of its own. My mental gears started turning and I had a kooky idea that turned out pretty fun -- we put a ton of white Christmas lights in a vintage fish trap, and bam -- a lake-worthy chandelier.
My mom looks so cute in this one, and so I told dad to go join her.
So adorable.
After dinner Friday night, I bathed Camille, changed her into her pajamas, and then brought her downstairs for storytime. My aunt bought her some Mercer Mayer books, so I packed one for her to read to the babe. It was such a sweet moment.
HA!
My uncle was quite smitten with the Millster. And I think the feeling was mutual.
The kitchen goddesses worked their magic. And I just sipped my prosecco. :)
The weather was rainy outdoors, so the menfolk brought the dartboard inside the porch and got a good game going.
As you can imagine, I didn't get to hold my own baby too much with all of those loving family members around, but it was great to see her so happy in everyones arms.
It was a great weekend together and I love having these photos to show Camille when she is older! No doubt she is one adored babe.
The pictures of everyone gathered around for story time are so sweet :) Such special memories!
ReplyDeleteI always thought I'd be reluctant to hand the baby over to friends and family, then when I had her I was like 'everybody hold her!'. I loved seeing her loved by everybody. Love the fish light, ha. Clever. Her eyes are so cute when they are all huge and taking everything in.
ReplyDeleteSo fun. I need to make that syrup again soon.
ReplyDeleteLove the light!
I'm madly in love with that light- awesome idea. I love fun outdoor lighting and the more rustic/nautical - the better! I'll be filing that idea away for later... : ) Fun pics!
ReplyDeleteAww, looks like you have such a caring and relaxed family. Even the dog seemed thrilled to hang out with Millie.
ReplyDeleteSo sweet! I miss making those memories with my family. Distance makes it so hard. I love the fish trap light. It almost reminds me of a jar filled with lightening bugs.
ReplyDeleteSo wonderful! What precious family time!!! xx
ReplyDeletethat photograph of your parents...sigh.
ReplyDeleteSpecial family moments! Glad you have the pictures forever!
ReplyDeleteThat lakehouse is just too perfect. I love that you all can just go, gather, and be together. Millie has the cutest facial expressions - I love the one of her looking at the book with your aunt!
ReplyDeleteHOW DO I MAKE LAVENDER SIMPLE SYRUP! I HAVE TO KNOWWWW!
ReplyDeleteSuch a sweet time with loved ones! Love all the pictures! And on a random note - you always have the BEST drink ideas. The lavender prosecco sounds amazing:)
ReplyDeleteI love the pictures of everyone participating in story time! It is amazing what a baby can do to people. I love your idea for the light, I am now going to have my eyes peeled for one to make for our river lot at the our family campground.
ReplyDeleteLOVE the fish light! So cleaver and creative! And functional!
ReplyDeleteLooks like such a special place...sometimes rainy weekends cooped up inside are the best. I love the fish chandelier!
ReplyDeleteAdore the ones of your aunt reading to her {and the rest of the famil}. So sweet!
ReplyDeleteLOVE the "fish light"!! My parents have a lake house with a screened-in porch, and that seems like just the thing that would fit in out there.... great idea!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful weekend!! Camille just gets prettier every day!
