Week 32 Pregnancy Journal

How Far Along? 32 weeks

Size of Baby: A large jicama (16.7 inches). Our baby weighs 3.75 lbs now!

Gender: All bows and frills. A girl!

Weight Gain: A 1-pound gain this week. Up a total of 16 pounds from my pre-pregnancy weight -- but since I lost a few pounds in the first trimester, up 19 pounds total from my lowest pregnancy weight.

Maternity Clothes: Yes, yes, yes. While I had vowed to pump the brakes on maternity clothing purchases, the warmer weather is throwing me for a loop! I'm thinking I may have to hit up Old Navy soon to pick up some basic short-sleeved tees that I can jazz up with scarves and statement necklaces.

Nursery: My happy place. I find myself in her nursery at least once daily. Sometimes I'm sitting in the rocking chair, other times I'm in the closet just looking at her teeny little clothes. On the checklist: cribskirt, changing table skirt, drapes, hang things on wall, paint the rocking horse and a shelf, wash/dry the crib sheet and mattress pad. Hopefully by next week I'll receive this snazzy changing pad cover with gold dots that I found on Etsy (from this shop)!

Movement: Good gracious, yes! The doctor confirmed yesterday that she is head down, and she further confirmed that I was right in guessing which side her rump is on (my right side) and her little footsies (left side). You can tell a pretty significant difference between how the two feel in my tummy.

Symptoms: This is sort of embarrassing, but burping! I NEVER burp, like seriously maybe twice a year. Well now it happens almost daily. Not sixth-grade sweaty boy burps, just delicate feminine "oh my goodness, excuse me!" versions. Belly button protrudes -- not a complete outtie, but definitely visible under my clothes. No swelling, no stretch marks, just a big big tummy!

Sleep: Sleeping better, minus a coughing husband. I always like for us to sleep in the same bed, but when his coughing gets bad, he migrates into the office to sleep there instead so I can rest. We are so ready for him to be done with the cough. Also, after still finding myself on my back a lot, I have (temporarily?) given up the Snoogle pregnancy pillow and now just sleep on my side with a pillow to hug and a second one in between my knees. I think the Snoogle may have been enabling my back sleeping?

Cravings: Still loving sweet tea and berries.

What I Miss: My perfect warm weather meal -- a dozen raw oysters and two glasses of sauvignon blanc. From New Zealand please and thank you.

Best Moment This Week: I hit up the MOTHERLOAD of consignment sales on Saturday at our YMCA (thanks to my Supper Club ladies as well as Christina for the heads up!). I was able to score some pretty amazing deals, including a brand new belly support band for $2. These are normally $40 and I was seriously considering buying one just last weekend.  This is the one I have. I went on a two-mile walk that afternoon with a girlfriend and had zero back pain afterwards. Hallelujah! I also got some adorable baby girl clothes and a My Brest Friend for $6. It's already been washed and sterilized and I'll just pick up a new slipcover for it!

Looking Forward To: I have a pretty amazing service scheduled this Saturday morning at our maternity spa ... an hour-long body exfoliation followed by an hour long massage! Absolutely can't wait.

PS: Today is the LAST day to enter the PinkBlush Maternity Giveaway -- entries will be accepted through midnight Eastern time tonight!

I also got my Brest Friend pillow at a consignment sale, and I'm so glad I did. I LOVED it in the early days, but it was also an item I only used for a short period of time. It's definitely a great item to get used!

  19. I remember saying that I wouldn't buy any more maternity clothes around your point. I broke down and bought a few tops from Target and goodness gracious they were worth it. Nothing like a quick fix to lift your spirits and so worth the small amount of money!
