Week 29 Pregnancy Journal

How Far Along? 29 weeks

Size of Baby: A butternut squash (15.25 inches). Baby weighs 2.5 lbs now!

Gender: Our sweet, sweet girl.

Weight Gain: A gain of one pound this week from last week. Now up a total of 13 pounds from my pre-pregnancy weight -- but since I lost a few pounds in the first trimester, up 16 pounds total from my lowest pregnancy weight. Still feeling good about my weight gain although the belly is large & in charge!

Maternity Clothes: Thank heavens for them.

Nursery: I mean ... it makes me so happy. It makes both of us happy. Even Drake loves it. The walls are pale pink, the crib is assembled and up, the changing table has been put together, the dresser is in place, her closet has had its makeover -- I'm a happy girl. Ian's picking up the rug today. We are going with an Ikea one, one that is pretty inexpensive and therefore easily replaceable if it gets messy.

Movement: Most definitely, and the movement now feels like a real live BABY is inside me. Gone are the cute flicks of movement, now we have a verified human rolling and tumbling around.

Symptoms: Nesting. Like whoa.

Sleep: Still waking up way before my alarm clock. So maybe I should be smart and just start going to bed earlier?

Cravings: Rice Krispie Treat Oreos (yes, these exist, and you're welcome). Grilled cheese sandwiches always sound yummy. My repeat glucose test is this morning, please send good thoughts!

What I Miss: Sleeping until my alarm clock goes off and feeling well-rested. That's okay, though, my body is just getting me ready for middle-of-the-night party times with our sweet girl!

Best Moment This Week: I have had way too much fun reading fellow bloggers' archived posts about baby item necessities. I've become rather obsessive about learning about baby gear, baby toys, baby everything. Now that we have storage space in the nursery, I've also started picking up a few little items for her like pacis and small toys -- which is so much more fun than buying things for myself.

Looking Forward To: So, so, so much. First of all ... (and I'm sorry to use this word because it's painfully annoying, but here goes) it's BABYMOON time! We are Florida bound very soon! We are going to Boca Raton and Miami. Bring on the sunshine!

Additionally, my baby shower is on Sunday and I am just so thankful for my sweet girlfriends who are hosting this for us. I can't wait to spend the afternoon with my very favorite people. Love them.

  15. You get cuter every week!! I was a miserable pregnant person haha. Can't wait to see pics of the nursery and enjoy every single minute of your babymoon because everything changes once baby is here. If you have any baby gear questions feel free to email me, I have done an insane amount of research on everything. I drove my husband crazy making him read reviews and consumer reports.
