Weekend Recap

This was one of those weekends that seemed relaxed and low-key, but if you wrote down all of the tasks we accomplished, it would be a mile long!

The weekend began at our house with a cookout.  Hamburgers, hot dogs, baked beans, chips, banana pudding (more on that later) ... we covered it all.

Saturday was filled with chores and errands, but we quit early in order to meet friends at Selwyn Pub at 5:00 for a late-afternoon drink.

Sunday, we took Drake for a long walk around the neighborhood and then each went to the gym.  I also did some planting of spring/summer flowers in the yard.

My mother-in-law was in town last week, and she brought for me the new piece of blue & white that you see to the left of the television.  I picked up this plant to go in it, and I love how it adds some more color to the room.

Only challenge is -- I have no idea what kind of flower this is!  It came with no tag or packaging and was the last one left.  I'd love to find out what it is so I can look up how to best care for it.  Does anyone have any ideas?

  6. Sounds like such a great weekend! And your cookout sounded delicious! I could definitely go for all of that for dinner tonight! And I have to say, you always wear the cutest clothes. I love the pink halter you are wearing in the picture of you and your friends. Is it Lilly?

  7. HMM this is perplexing me. They look similar to the blooms that come up from Hostas but those are normally white with broader leaves. They also look like Yellow Flag iris, but that would be a bigger bloom although they normally grow by beds of plants or by lake sides, etc. They MIGHT be yellow Freesia, but they look too wilted and/or small for that plant. That might be your best bet, however, looking at the stem structure!
