Make Your Own Frosé

You know how you order something out at a restaurant and you pay a ton for it, because there's no way you could make it at home?

I am here to tell you that you, too, can make your OWN Frosé at home. And it's not hard! And certainly not expensive!

(the first few steps -- freezing your rosé and making an
infused simple syrup -- will be best if done at least
a day in advance -- so take that into consideration!)

You're going to start off by freezing your rosé. Pour a bottle into a Ziploc freezer bag, close tightly and toss in your freezer. My favorite rosés are more of a light orange in color (not really the darker pink ones). I laid my freezer bag of rosé across a frozen lasagna so it would freeze in a flat layer, speeding up freezing time a little.

Now it's time to make a strawberry simple syrup. Slice some strawberries -- maybe 5 or 6 berries. You can use fresh or frozen strawberries. I used frozen and sliced them right out of the freezer. In a mason jar, combine 1/2 cup sugar and 1/2 cup water. Microwave it for 90 seconds, and then stir together. Add in some sliced strawberries when it's hot and bubbling.

Let this concoction sit until it's a beautiful bright pink color. You can leave the strawberries in.

To make your Frosé, add the frozen rosé to a blender and add in 4 tablespoons of the simple syrup. Blend together until it's a beautiful frozen concoction.

Pour in glasses, add in a straw, and top your frosé with some of the sliced strawberries from the simple syrup. Enjoy! This would be so fun to serve on Wednesday for July 4th festivities!
