It's time for another edition of Five on Friday and I do hope you'll join along!
Remember, all you have to do is post about five things on your mind, add our logo (found at the bottom of this post), and join the party using the linky tools below. Easy, and a great way to find new blogs and be found. :)
So, here we go, some photos of our new home! I am no professional photog and there are some rooms that are really, really still works in progress. But, after living in this home now for five months, here is our current house. Five on Friday style, natch!
(I recognize that by grouping these together under five major headings, it's not as easy to understand the layout of the house. This is by design, for safety! Hope you understand!) :)

Kitchen And Dining Areas
As I mentioned earlier this week, we did lots of updates in the kitchen. Painted walls, painted cabinets, new Roman shades custom sewn. New faucet, new cabinet and drawer pulls, new lever handle on pantry (under framed art).
I love the double oven, I love the walk-in pantry, and I love that I can look outside while washing dishes!

Bedrooms
We have four bedrooms -- master, the girls' rooms, and a guest room. I've painted the vanity in the guest room but we are gearing up for a master bathroom renovation in the next year or two. The girls' bathroom is not shown but they still have dark wood vanities that I also plan to paint myself. I used chalk paint from Walmart on the guest bathroom and knobs from Hobby Lobby. We replaced the ceiling fan in our room with one from Home Depot.

Playroom and Office
We still need a lot of wall decor for this room, and that area you see in the back corner is where I make bows. I hope to have a more substantial desk there at some point! Camille and Char have lots of toys out and I rotate the toys out with MORE toys that are in a closet to the left of the toy area.

And, proofreading back over this post, I realize how CHEAP I am, ha! Seriously, most everything has been bought at a bargain price. That's what I like though, spending wisely and putting our money toward experiences ... and fun home updates, like plantation shutters for the dining room!

TGIF y'all, and hope you will join in on Five on Friday this week! Cheers to the weekend!
I LOVE the bright, round rug in the entry!
ReplyDeleteYour laundry is my dream!! The laundry room is one of the least functional spaces in our house with 2 kids under 4. Unfortunately there is no easy way to change it!
ReplyDeleteApril! I just love your home! So bright, big and spacious!!! Have A great weekend friend!
ReplyDeleteHey April, I've loved this week's series! Your home is beautiful! Two questions--where did you get the frames above your bed? And we also have a Sea Salt master (the best color!), do you have a link to the drapes from Lowe's? We are in need of curtains! :) Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteLove love love it all!! The girls rooms are precious. The floral fabric in one of their rooms is amazing! That laundry room is to die for... oh how I wish I would have thought about the importance of an actual laundry room vs. laundry closet when we bought our house... pre kids mindset I guess! Thanks for sharing!!
ReplyDeleteI was looking foward to your home tour! Moving into a bigger space and figuring out how to decorate and reuse pieces that work is a challenge. You did a great job! I'm in the same boat and spend entirely too much time sitting in the formal living room trying to decide what to do with it.
ReplyDeleteYour house is beautiful!!!!
ReplyDeleteYou and I moved around the same time and it's so fun to see your home tour! What great, practical tips for little improvements that make a BIG difference. We still have lots to do over the coming years (hi, kitchen remodel!), but two immediate things that were game changers for us were 1. paint (as you said) and 2. replacing all of the door knobs/hinges. We chose oil rubbed bronze to replace the original gold-tone from 1998 and, man, it freshened things up! LOVELY, lovely home - thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteSo pretty! I love all the details. Your laundry room and staircase are beautiful! Beautifully Candid
ReplyDeleteBeautiful home! All that natural light is fantastic!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! I love the gray cabinet in your formal living room. Did you paint it or buy it like that? Also, so random - when my husband's parents were getting rid of their storage unit we ended up with a lot of random furniture and one piece is one of the chairs identical to the set you got from your parents. So if you ever need another one... let me know!
ReplyDeleteLooks so good April!!
ReplyDeleteYou have a beautiful home! I've never seen anyone have a lamp on a bathroom counter, is that a southern thing? It looks cute but I think it would drive me a bit batty being there, especially with wiping/cleaning bathroom counters all the time? Or water splashing around? Maybe that's just my toddler haha!! 😂
ReplyDeleteWe moved around the same time, also to an outdated 90's home so it is so fun to see your take on redecorating and updating, too! Everything turned out lovely. I especially love your living room.
ReplyDeleteSuch a beautiful home - thank you for sharing x
ReplyDeleteGorgeous April!! You all have so much space! You're not cheap at all furniture is so expensive, we've been using hand me downs and Ikea for years. After our renovation is completed will be the first time we really splurge on "grown up" furniture.
ReplyDeleteI love your style, especially the master! I am almost finished with our master bedroom, I just have to put up the curtains, but they need a double rod, so I've been waiting for my husband to help me install them.
ReplyDeleteThe woodwork in your new home is unbelievable. I totally loved your entire home series this week. I think my favorite touches are both your Moroccan lamp and the chandelier you stole from your other home. You have superior taste <3 So happy your little family is loving your new space.

I love the art you created that is hanging over the sofa in your den. Maybe you could do a tutorial or provide an explanation on how you created it?
ReplyDeleteThanks for the inspiration! I also recently sold/bought houses (with a toddler) and our new house is so 70's. We call it the Ron Burgundy Lake House (due to its proximity to Folsom Lake here in Northern California). We moved in November and we're mostly unpacked but still have boxes lurking about. We haven't quite gotten around to any projects to redesign the house but now I'm totally inspired to get off my butt. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteThis has been a great read for me and I am sure many others will loved it as well Flags Embroidery Designs, Thanks for your efforts here.
