Good gosh, weekends fly by these days! Maybe it's because the concept of "lazy time" has been pushed to the backburner and we are just set to go, go, go.
We did have some nice family time, though, and a highlight was grabbing an early dinner with friends on Saturday night at Chuy's. We were that table with four adults, two kiddos in high chairs, snacks and books and trucks and bibs scattered around the table, and maybe a littttttle louder than some of the nearby tables. But I've learned to embrace the craziness that is dining with a 10-month old, and a good bit of the other 5:30 diners were parents to little ones as well.
Sunday we were able to have lunch with the same group which was quite a treat, and Braswells has a great menu (and $2 mimosas to boot!). I had the prime rib sandwich which had the most delicious horseradish aioli, perfect for dipping fries in. And their fries are GOOD.
Also on the radar? Some work in the front yard, back patio beautification, a Home Depot trip, some house hunting, a pizza delivery on Friday night, a chilly walk Saturday morning, crockpot barbecue and slaw last night, and watching quality television shows like Cops (which really is funnier and more interesting of a show than you may expect).
And gobs of time laughing with this child.
I hope your weekend was just as fun!
Sounds like a lovely weekend! Now, you have me craving the creamy jalapeno dip at Chuys :)
ReplyDeleteChuy's is the best for kids, especially that patio! Please weather, warm up so mama can have some queso and ritas in the sunshine!
ReplyDelete$2 mimosas? score! glad you had a good weekend!!
ReplyDeleteYour meals and beverages sound so delish!:) You know you're a parent when the clock hasn't even hit 6:00 yet, and you're already having/have had dinner:)
ReplyDeleteHouse hunting?? Are you guys thinking about making a move?
ReplyDeleteLoveliest lady, if y'all are thinking of putting your casa on the market, hit a sista UP!!!! :)
ReplyDeleteAnd with no rush because we are content at my mama's and our house in Wilmy hasn't sold yet anyway!
xx
That sounds like a LOVELY weekend! We've been "those people" at restaurants a lot lately with a babe in the highchair and their destruction surrounding the table! (floor covered in cheerios, sippy cups flying- you know I'm talking about : ) HA!)
ReplyDeletehaha! we are totally "those" people on a regular basis...but as long as it's happy noises that are coming from the table then I don't feel bad at all!
ReplyDeleteThose $2 mimosas are right up my alley!
ReplyDeleteSounds like such a fun weekend! Did you find a dish at Chuy's that you like?? I have to say probably my favorite thing there is the chips, salsa and creamy jalapeño dip! Add a margarita on the rocks and I don't even need to order dinner! HA! Have a wonderful week! :)
ReplyDeleteSounds like there was a lot of yard work going on this weekend, that's exactly what we did all day Saturday! Just needs to warm up now!
ReplyDeleteIt is totally strange how a mobile child just totally puts relaxing weekends on hold (for a long time, I suspect!)
ReplyDeleteI totally think that I could be okay with moving back to Charlotte now that there's a Chuy's there. The food in Houston is amazing but that would definitely help! ;)
