First of all, please tell me -- am I the only one who falls asleep on the couch at an embarrassingly early time Friday nights? I was dozing off at 8:30. Ian was like -- April, really?! But after a long week, and an awesome dinner that I didn't have to cook (Ian grilled wings for us), and laying back on the couch with the fireplace on and a cozy blanket ... I didn't stand a chance to make it any later than I did.
Saturday, I went to a baby shower at Napa on Providence.
The baby shower menu was so delicious that I was stacking food on top of food.
We can't wait until this little miss makes her appearance and Camille can have a new playmate!
Later that afternoon my little teddy bear and I went to the grocery store to get ingredients for a yummy meal.
I took Natasha's suggestion and made the copycat Mongolian Beef from PF Chang's for dinner ... holy deliciousness. More to come on this later!
Sunday consisted of making a baby bikini top out of Mama's eye mask ...
... and was later followed by a family walk around the neighborhood, a visit with our friends/neighbors, a little football watching for Ian, some mimosas, and a playdate at our house with Camille's daycare "boyfriend." It is a hoot watching those two together ... they are ten days apart in age and have so much fun hanging out with each other and getting into mischief.
This will be a short work week for us ... we have a little family getaway planned later this week!
We're lameo falling asleep on the couch folks at my house too! Can't help it. :) And YAY for the upcoming getaway! EEE! xx
ReplyDeleteLove a fun getaway -- still daydreaming about ours (wah!!). Love your earrings in the baby shower pic -- I'm trying to get out of my Studs Only rut and branch out into fun dangly items!
ReplyDeleteShe is just adorable!
ReplyDeleteI'm right there with you on the Friday night sleep thing! After a long week, staying up until 10:00 pm is just too hard to do.
ReplyDeleteOhhh I fell asleep on the couch SO early both nights this weekend and felt so completely lame!! THanks for sharing and making me feel a little better. haa This mama business can wear a girl out some days!
ReplyDeleteAfter a long week, a cozy blanket and a seat by the fireplace would lull anyone to sleep. I'm also waiting patiently for the arrival of my niece (Ariel) in February. Happy Monday, April :)

The couch is where it's at, lol! We fall asleep on it on the reg - and usually it's somewhere in the 9 pm region, so don't feel bad, Mama. It happens to the best of us:) Can't wait to hear more about your little getaway! January is the best time for little trips!
ReplyDeletesounds like a great weekend that mongolian beef sounds gooood. xo jillian - cornflake dreams
ReplyDeleteI was asleep by 8 Saturday night (my babe doesn't sleep through the night so honestly I fall asleep at 8 most nights ;) ). The shower looked beautiful! I've always passed Napa on Providenxe and wondered if it was yummy! Camille is just so precious - what a fun shopping buddy!
ReplyDeleteSOO right there with you on the early bedtime on the weekend. I'm a little embarrassed to admit that I kinda look forward to it! It's definitely exhausting being a working mama sometimes!!
ReplyDeleteI seriously run to the bed when Tripp falls asleep. So lame, but so necessary. Have so much fun on your getaway....totally necessary as well! :)
ReplyDeleteWe have wild Friday nights like that too! Sometimes you just need it! I love Camille in her little bear jacket - soo cute!!
ReplyDeleteI have totally fallen asleep that early before. In fact, I could probably fall asleep right now! :)
ReplyDeleteAlso, random, but I'm pretty sure that I was in that Harris Teeter over the Christmas holiday.... and I may or may not have been slightly tipsy at that point. (oops.)
