So I've got a much-needed haircut scheduled Friday at Carmen Carmen, and I'm so antsy to get it done. Way overdue! I've been barely surviving on bang trims alone, and my last proper haircut was in (eek!) November. Between the holidays and the busy travel season, this appointment can't get here soon enough.
As always, I'm having the longer v. shorter debate.
On one hand, I like having long hair, I like the flexibility it gives me for wearing it up (topknots, ponytails, braids). Ian loves it long. I can put hot rollers in or wear it stick-straight.
On the other hand, I'm just not sold on whether my hair is thick enough to merit a long length.
So thank goodness for the InStyle Hairstyle Try-On app on my iPad (along with a good dose of boredom and a glass of wine)! I "tried on" a few styles and got a kick out of it.
Um, this could never be my hair, but I sort of wish it was. Thick, long, layered, subtle highlights. Gorgeous.
The style above has a lot more volume at the top than I could probably muster, but I like the layers and length.
I love this hairstyle! Pouf at top, soft curls and layers. Hmm. If only I could get my hair to hold a curl like this.
This one is probably my favorite of the mid-length styles. I like how modern it is, and those long bangs are so cute. I'm unsure if my bangs would lay that flat.
And same style but in blonde!
Hmmmm.... I think not.
(shudder)
Have you used this tool before? It's great for a laugh with some girlfriends!

That first hair style looks VERY Texas! :-) BIG BIG BIG! :-)
ReplyDeleteI have a hair appt tomorrow to and my hair isn't to thick so it can't get to much longer but I don't want to part and make it short!
ReplyDeleteI think the third style looks most like it does now, but I love how the bangs look on you in the first picture!
ReplyDeleteI need that app! So cool! Do you love Carmen and Carmen? I still haven't found a place to get my hair done yet. I usually end up going wherever I purchase a groupon.
ReplyDeleteThat app is so fun, I need to try it out next time I get a cut, I am always debating short v. long. I love the curls on you :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun app! I recently took the plunge and cut my hair up to my shoulders. As much as I miss my sock bun { and let me tell you I really really do } this do is so much faster and easier to deal with. I am sure you will look lovely no mater what you chose :)
ReplyDeleteHehe that looks like a fun app. Maybe I should check it out to figure out what I want to do with my hair after the wedding! I love the second to last one on you!
ReplyDeleteLove those side bangs on the last pic. Have you ever tried a Sultra Bombshell curling rod? Your hair will hold curl if you use it... promise. Also, do you ever use dry shampoo at your crown? That helps tons if you are going for volume.
ReplyDeleteOMG. I wasn't really reading and just saw "haircut" then saw the first picture and got scared. I thought that was really your hair. I was like holy crap she crazy extensions! Then I went back and realized what you were doing! Haha
ReplyDeleteSO cute! #3 is very you! love them all, though! xoxoxo

ReplyDeleteyour face in these pics is cracking me up! haha they all look great, but I love #2!
ReplyDeleteUm... I kind of love you as a blonde. I'm just sayin.
ReplyDeleteI love the bangs in the last (brunette) one!
ReplyDeleteMy eyes automatically skipped to the picture, and I was so confused! Girl you are hilarious! Your hair is awesome how it is
ReplyDeleteWhat an adorable app! I need to download! :) I like the style you like (the bangs up, with the soft curls). I'm always changing my hair, too, but usually in small/subtle boring ways, haha. (Bangs, no bangs, layers, less layers) :) Can't wait to see your new 'do!
ReplyDeleteI've never heard of this app... sooo perfect for trying out new hairstyles!!
