Last night I hosted Supper Club at my house.
Hosting for a group can be a lot of work, but I absolutely love it!
Planning the menu, buying the groceries, and having it all come together.
I knew I was going to be tight on prep time yesterday after getting home from work, so I kept the meal pretty simple. We are an appetizer-lovin' group, and here is what I put together for us to nibble on before our meal.
Dried Apricots with Blue Cheese and Honey
With this appetizer, the dried apricot acts as your cracker. Just top each with some crumbled blue cheese and drizzle on local honey. They are equally delicious if you sprinkle on some crushed pistachios, too.
Mulitgrain Crackers with Pepperjack Cheese and Fig Preserves
This was definitely a hit. The pepperjack cheese had a bit of kick, and the fig preserves were a good sweet balance. And because it is such a simple appetizer, when we ran out, it was easy and quick to put more together.
And for true ease, my third little nibble just consisted of some nice olives. Can't beat that simplicity!
What are some of your go-to (simple!) appetizers?

The apricots look fantastic - I am hosting a winery brunch and I will be stealing that for sure!
ReplyDeleteI'm so happy you put this up - I have a jar of fig preserves in my fridge that I have NO idea what to do with. Heading to the store tonight for some pepperjack!
ReplyDeletei host 'girls night' once a month @ my place - but depending on 'theme' and 'attendees' depends on menu - i have A LOT of vegetarian and other 'special' food eaters - but cheese and crackers is ALWAYS a must
ReplyDeleteYUM!!!! The apricots sound AWESOME!

Just had a girls night last night! The hostess cut puff pastries into bite size pieces, topped each one with chunks of Brie and threw into the oven. Then served them with warm raspberry preserves that she had microwaved. Sooo good!
ReplyDeleteThe apricots do look easy!
ReplyDeletemy favorite 2-3 ingredient appetizers are definitely baked brie topped with basically anything and cream cheese, vanilla, and brown sugar microwaved to make a yummy caramel-ish dip for apples! thanks for your sharing yours!
ReplyDeleteApricots have fiber and are VERY good for you. So yay for noshing on healthy things.
ReplyDeleteMulitgrain Crackers with Pepperjack Cheese and Fig Preserves sounds amazing. I enjoy fig preserves or sauce on top of goat cheese with a bit of baguette.
Pimento cheese sandwiches are always good, as are cheese straws, wasabi peas, baked brie with raspberry preserves... those are some of my go-tos.
Also, fig preserve leftovers are WONDERFUL as a glaze on pork tenderloin. You're welcome :)
Oh these look absolutely delish! You have such a cute blog here!
ReplyDeleteAll of these look fantastic! I'd love to host a supper club sometime soon!
