After I wrote the post this week about World Market, I somehow found myself back there again ... funny how that happens. That store is magnetic, I suwanee. Anyway, they had the most adorable salad set half off (and I received an extra 15% for being in their WM Explorer program -- free to sign up) so this $20 set ended up costing me around $8.50. Not too shabby!
I got these and a matching spreader knife since the only spreader knives I own either have Santas on them or high heels. And the other day I saw Ian using a high heel spreader and it just wasn't right.
Originally $19.99, now $9.99

Sometimes I come home from work to little surprises, and this is what Wednesday's looked like. I think the reason behind it is so hilariously sweet -- it was Ian thanking me for some work I've done for us recently, like switching our insurance over to a new carrier (that is saving us a few hundred a year!) and working on an IRA we have. It's so funny how life changes when you're in your 30s. :) But I love it.

My sister's recipe for peach cobbler looks PERFECT (read: really tasty and really easy and not calling for 19 ingredients). She posted the recipe here.

Spotted at Bed, Bath, and Beyond. OH MY GOODNESS. I think I love it. Lake party, anyone?

We have a new pendant light over our breakfast table! I found this one at Crate & Barrel (here) and with some leftover wedding gift cards, we got it for nearly half-price. I'm loving how it adds so much depth to the area. Ever do a home project, stand back, and then say -- why did I wait so long?! The area must have looked positively naked before!
I hope you'll join along in this week's Five On Friday!
Love that new light over the table! It really does add a lot to the already beautiful space.
ReplyDeleteHappy Friday, dear!!
ReplyDeleteOkay, in no particular order...
1.) World Market --- it's practically Target, given it's ability to suck you in, right? It gets me every time too. Love that Ian will no longer have to use a high heel adorned spreader though. HAHA!!! Loved that.
2.) So sweet that he had a little surprise waiting on you when you got home.
3.) I had no clue that you have a sister who blogs. Where, oh where, have I been?? Stopping by!
4.) Floatable cooler. Yes, please!
Happy weekend, sweet friend... hope it's great!!
Love the new light!! And that peach cobbler looks delish!!!!!
ReplyDeleteThe Big Bobber cooler actually works! I love it, my friend brought one to the beach and it was perfect! Happy Friday!
ReplyDeleteLovvvve the new light! Looks perfect! We got the bobber cooler as a shower gift but for some reason have yet to use it. I hear it works great, as long as you don't let any water get in it. Sinky sinky...

I love your new light! It looks great plus you didn't pay full price sounds like a win-win to me;)
ReplyDeleteWe have the Bobber. Brad's Mom got it for him several years ago for Christmas.
ReplyDeleteHe would probably give it to ya'll - he thinks it sucks.. I'm not a fan either. Everything just rolls around in there and it takes on water.
The new light is FABULOUS - my biggest issue with our apartment is the shiteous lighting throughout and I dream someday of picking out the perfect fixture for different areas of our house. It looks wonderful!

ReplyDeleteLove that new light fixture! Thanks for the cobbler link, I'm always up to try a new one!
ReplyDeleteone of the first [and cheapest] projects we had in the new house was just adding a drum shade to our dining room light fixture. it's AMAZING how much that little adjustment updated the whole room. yours looks GREAT! have a great weekend, love! xoxo
ReplyDeleteoh yes, and Ian - what a dreamboat! y'all are way too cute for words! ;)
ReplyDeleteFirst timer here, love your link up! I'm dying over that new light fixture. I'm obsessed with Crate and Barrel. And that floating cooler is a must! Enjoy your weekend! :o)
