We are back from a weekend in the mountains and we had an awesome time. Friday night after getting into town, we kept things simple by going out for Mexican food. This is really random, but only in the past year or so have I discovered the CHIMICHANGA. Leave it to me to fall in love with the fried option on the menu. But a chicken and cheese chimichanga is my new favorite dish to order, followed closely by cheese enchiladas.
We had some fun adventures in the mountains and that will be a post for later. Yesterday, before heading back to Charlotte, we decided to stick around a little bit longer than we usually do and have some good time together as a family. The weather was crisp and sunny, too nice to not take advantage of. We packed a picnic lunch and tried making the trek to Linville Falls, but we got stuck in standstill traffic on the way there. It was one of those situations where everyone is waiting in a long line of cars until, one by one, they start pulling u-turns and heading back. So we went with plan B and just had a little mini-hike on the land at the bottom of the house and enjoyed our picnic lunch next to the stream.
This coming weekend we are going to check out the pumpkin patch we visited last year and I'm already counting down the days until I can say TGIF.
A big congratulations to Pam, the winner of the Ja-vie flats! Pam, please contact me or Laura via email to claim your amazing new shoes :) Thanks to everyone who entered, and thank you most of all to the ladies behind Ja-vie for sponsoring the giveaway.
Would love to see a plaid pair for the Fall! Love that they are washable & comfortable!
I think Pam's on to something ... a plaid pair would definitely need to make its way to my closet.
Yay!! Thank you so much. I can't wait to try out my new flats :)
