This is a small town but a gorgeous one. I'm staying right next to the marina so breakfast overlooks beautiful boats and glistening water. Don't let me complain, okay?!
Today I am thankful for so much but namely:
+ Wonderful phone chats on the 5 hour drive yesterday
+ The best blow-out experience yesterday ... oh my goodness Charlotte ladies, you are in for a treat with our newest spot! Details coming soon!
+ Walks with Drake. We are shortening our walks but trying to do them more frequently. Our sweet pup will be 14 this Chrismas, can you believe? I still get asked how old my "puppy" is. :)
+ Fun times ahead this weekend with friends!
+ Getting to find out whether one of my besties is having a little boy or girl on Saturday ... I am overwhelmed with joy for her and her sweet husband and just so you know -- I am on team PINK!
What are you thankful for today?
One of my best friends is from New Bern! I love that little sweet town, enjoy your trip!
ReplyDeleteI lived not too far from New Bern when I was in elementary school! I don't remember much of the city, but I did love visiting Tryon Palace! We went back to visit about three years ago, and it was so much fun to take a walk down memory lane!
ReplyDeleteExcited for more info on this blowout place!!! Do tell! :)
ReplyDeleteI really want to try that new blowout place! Glad to hear you enjoyed it! I'll have to book my appointment!
ReplyDeleteI'm jealous of your great salon experience! I have yet to cut my hair after moving to NC four months ago. I don't want to be disappointed with finding a new place. :(
ReplyDeleteTreat yourself to the Baker's Kitchen or The Chelsea before you leave :) Both great food!
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to hear about the blowout bar! I'm missing Drybar in DC!
ReplyDeleteAwe 14 years young!
ReplyDeleteI went to a wedding in New Bern a few years ago, it was such a wonderful little town! Enjoy your weekend!
ReplyDeleteI absolutely adore New Bern, it's probably where Ben and I will be next and buy a home. Ben's parents are about 20 minutes from New Bern, so close but not too close if you know what I mean ;) and his sister is in New Bern...it reminds me so much of Charleston before Charleston exploded! So quaint! Make sure you have dinner and drinks at The Chelsea.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your trip!
ReplyDeleteA perfect quote. One that I need to remember every single morning.
ReplyDeleteOooo did you try Blo? I'm dying to give it a try!
ReplyDeleteHey April! I love your blog--I taught with Paige and Beth in Charlotte and ironically after I linked up with your 5 on Friday post they told me you are in supper club together! Anyways--glad to follow along with your adventures!
ReplyDeleteI've never been to New Bern but I've always heard it was a great place. I will have to make a trip there some day! Have a wonderful weekend!
