Is it just me, or is it so not fair that
Kings of Leon cancelled the rest of their tour? We bought our tickets months ago -- before Ian and I were even married -- and splurged along with a big group of friends on 7th row tickets. This past Tuesday we found out Friday's show was cancelled. On Wednesday we found out we could still go see the opening band -- Band of Horses -- play at a smaller venue, so we did that Friday night. It was extremely crowded but the show was good.
Saturday I went to go see
Bridesmaids with Ian and our friend Casey ... and it was everything I hoped it would be. Hilarious!
That night we cooked out at the house and had some friends over.

Sliced kiwi, my husband's favorite fruit. And my little gold bamboo cocktail fork. |

Slicing a tomato from a friend's garden and drying lettuce.
We grilled hamburgers and had sweet potato fries. |

This is what I drank |

This is what the boys drank |

And this is what we munched on |

This is what kept us mesmerized on our patio table |

This is pure relaxation |

This is me |

This is Ian going inside to pour shots of whiskey for the guys. No thanks for me. |

This is me hamming it up |
Sunday morning I awoke to Ian sneaking out of bed and I decided to
pretend like I was still asleep so I could doze a little and then check my phone for emails and Twitter updates for as looooong as I wanted to. I think I fell back into a light sleep but I'm not even sure.
...bliss...

And this is recovery. |
When I finally emerged from the bedroom, I had coffee waiting for me with a breakfast sandwich (bacon, a fried egg, Swiss cheese on a multigrain English muffin). Yes,
Ian cooks weekend breakfasts for me, and I am one lucky gal.
Now I'm off to New Bern, NC for a few days for work. You may remember that I got some
crazy good shopping done on my last trip there. Here's hoping to more
shopping coups!
Shots of whiskey? Yes please! How can you turn that down, lol?!! Your food this weekend was way better than mine. Can Ian cook me breaky? Pa pa pa pleeeeeease!

ReplyDeleteWe also had bought tickets for Friday night in Charlotte! So upset but that's good y'all at least got to go see Band of Horses. We didn't even think to look for them playing somewhere else.
ReplyDeleteSo sad about KOL, hopefully a little rehab will fix things!
