Thank you all so much for your reaffirmation about Charlotte's eye surgery next month. I know in my heart of hearts that it's going to be way less dramatic than I'm building it up to be in my mind, but ... it's surgery. Anesthesia. An incision into her eyeball. Poor, sweet girl. There's no doubt in my heart that we are doing the best thing ever for her, but I just honestly wish that we didn't even have to consider this option.

Luckily, my sweet friend and FOF cohostess Christina had some amazing words of affirmation for me about this procedure, and the same doctor who did her son's surgery is going to do Charlotte's procedure as well. We have it scheduled for early next month, eager to take this step forward!

Yesterday afternoon Camille helped me make Lucky Charms Treats (just like Rice Krispies treats but with the all-green Lucky Charms that you can buy now!). We used THIS basic fail-proof recipe and I ate wayyy too many for my own good while the girls were napping.

She loves helping in the kitchen and this was the perfect, quick recipe for us!

A local friend and fellow girl mama (I have three more months to call myself that!) has the best taste in childrens' clothes and I always love when she asks me to custom-create some hairbows for her girlies. Look at this pink/navy combo she designed ... how adorable!

If you'd be interested in seeing these on our Instagram page, say the word. :)
Pssst .... beautiful bonnets coming SOON on Insta!

The girls and I enjoyed a quick visit from my mother-in-law earlier this week and she always comes with little gifts. This time it was little glittery art kits that the girls colored with markers. They looked so cute at the little childrens table and had a fun time crafting.

Wow, twenty six weeks along! I can't believe how fast this pregnancy is flying ... warp speed. I've got that same back pain (on my right side, specifically -- feels like a horrible pinched nerve) that I had with Charlotte's pregnancy, but I'm not seeing a chiropractor yet for it. It'd probably do me wonders but I'm just trying to treat it without spending the time and money for weekly or bi-weekly chiro visits. I wonder if I can make it to 40 weeks with just my massaging pillow as my therapy!

That's it for today! Hope you have a lovely weekend -- thanks for linking up with us below!

  1. Charlotte is going to do great! (But trust me, I would be just as anxious/nervous as you are. That’s your baby!) You look amazing pregnant and those bows are just precious. Makes me wish I had a girl to put them in her hair! ;) Happy Friday!

  4. Hi April, wanted to wish you well on Charlotte's surgery. Also, are you sure that the back pain in your right side is only back pain? I had this during my pregnancy and saw a chiropractor which did nothing. Turns out it was actually coming from my kidney (hydronephrosis was the technical diagnosis). It's very common in pregnant women but a lot don't show symptoms - but sharp, severe pain in the lower right side of my back was how it started for me!

  6. It is scary when surgery has to be done especially on a lil one. I'll be thinking of lil Charlotte & sending some good vibes your way. :)

    Have a nice weekend.

  10. Hey lady. You guys are in my prayers for Charlotte's surgery. I am positive she'll do so well and I simultaneously understand your anxiety. Jeez Louise, I was anxious over ear tubes (which FYI are NBD).
I can't believe your little man will be here so soon-how exciting!
And finally... love those bows. Perhaps I could convince my girls to rock some matching ones?
