Five On Friday

It's time for another edition of Five on Friday and I do hope you'll join along!

Remember, all you have to do is post about five things on your mind, add our logo (found at the bottom of this post), and join the party using the linky tools below. Easy, and a great way to find new blogs and be found. :)

Yesterday I hit up the local (Matthews/Stallings) splash pad with the girls and it was so cute! Camille was super timid at first and would not go into the water. There were lots of older kids and LOTS of water was spraying out all over ... I could see how it would be intimidating. But she warmed up to it and had a great time!

I posted this pic on Snap before we left and got questions about my workout pants -- they are cheapies from Walmart! The brand is Avia and I'm unsure if they are still available (they are a few months old) but I bet they have something comparable. They come up fairly high on my waist which is nice and even have a hidden inner pocket.

Speaking of Walmart, I picked up this adorable flour sack kitchen towel there the other day for less than two bucks! It looks perfect in our happy kitchen.

I recently received samples from The First Years and wanted to brag on them a little bit here. They sent me the Minnie Mouse Helping Hands Feeding & Activity Seat which can be purchased at Walmart (okay, first three posts today all about Walmart, I promise they are not paying me!).

I thought it would be better suited to Charlotte's size but Camille (at 3 years old) quickly called dibs and it's now hers forever. She loves it. She can crawl in/out of it herself and just needs help with the tray. Comparing it to the Bumbo seat that we have, I'd say the main difference is the tray. To me, there is a pro and a con to it. The con is the it is harder to snap on then the Bumbo we have. The pro is that there are no inner chambers that can trap moldy, mildewy water. It is so easily cleaned and disinfected. So, that is a HUGE win to me!

The cupholder is also really helpful to prevent spills.

My girlfriend Sarah alerted me to the watermelon mint diet lemonade at Chick Fil A and man oh mannnnn is it tasty. I'll take this over a Starbucks drink any day.

EYELASH SERUM.

I posted a Facebook Live video on my Smooch By April page and referenced an eyelash growth serum that I have been using and loving. I started using it right when I weaned Charlotte from breastfeeding (per my pediatrician's recommendations ... check with yours, obviously!) so have been using it regularly for about 2 months. I'm really seeing a great difference! I swipe it on my lashes and brows at nighttime. I've used Latisse in the past but this is a FRACTION of the cost and is Amazon Prime eligible, soooooo .... yeah. It's amazing.

It's called RapidLash (available here) and I read several reviews on it before buying. Good stuff!

That's it for today! Hope you have a lovely weekend -- thanks for linking up with us below!

  3. We don't have nice big WalMart's out here in CA so I don't think you find as many fun things like your cute towel. You are the second person I've read raving about that watermelon lemonade. Sound very refreshing. Have a great weekend, April!

  4. Um, can I love all of this?! I bought those yoga crops after you posted about them this spring and I get SO many compliments on them! Thank you! ;) That hand towel is adorable, and The First Years sent us a Cars 3 booster seat and Walker totally took it over from Knox; hilarious! That lemonade is totally my crack this summer!

  9. OOO I want to try that lash serum! Question though? When do you put it on, in relation to like, night cream/eye cream? Directions say to apply to clean eyes ... ? Do you put on "top" of top lashes, or underneath? I'm kind of scared to put stuff that close to my eyes, but girl! My lashes need some ooomph!

    1. I run it right along my top lash line only and sometimes I put a little bit on my brows as well! None underneath!

  10. I have those workout pants! Love love love them! Walmart carrying the Avia and Danskin lines seriously makes it worth the trip, athleisure wear for 80% less than Athleta and the like for the same quality, love it!

  11. I need that watermelon mint lemonade like yesterday! I wonder how carb-y it is (if I can get away with drinking it without killing my blood sugar)... the diet part sounds promising. Hmm! As far as the lash serum goes, I'm definitely interested in something like that but terrified I'll go blind or have some horrible side effects years later since there haven't been decades of research into how they impact you long-term. It's one of my more recent semi-rational/semi-irrational fears!

  20. Hi! I've actually been following your blog off and on for years now; some time before you had your first daughter, but this is my first comment. [Which is really a question] Do you also perm your lashes?
    Thank you!
