We have a relaxing weekend ahead ... a pizza date with a favorite friend family, some yardwork, a toddler birthday party, and the Super Bowl! I am excited to come up with a fun little menu. I have been craving the apple nachos (recipe HERE) that I made years ago! So delicious and Camille would get such a kick out of them.

Okay, some of you may remember that recently on a post I wrote about hobbies and making money, a comment from a reader about the mystery shopping she does got a lot of attention! Everyone wanted to know more ... how did she get into doing this gig, and how could they get into it as well? She emailed me with details, and here's the info she passed along. My sister Laura sent me the most delicious looking recipe the other day that she enjoyed. Buying whole carrots (even organic) is way cheaper than you may expect. I can't wait to try these with Camille ... recipe here!

Here's the caveat. We'd take Camille only and we'd only have like a day or two at the park. So, those of you who are Disney obsessed or at least Disney aware ... hit. me. up. I want to know all the things. Where should we go (Magic Kingdom?) and what can we book like less than two months out?

I just got back from Disney this week! It was so much fun to go as an adult. We went for 2.5 days. Had the BEST time. I am happy to give you any information! We just did a girls trip: myself, my 27 year old sister, my mom and my grandmother who is 83 so I don't have the best insider tips for little ones, but I did read a TON of blogs that had guides for going which included traveling with little ones. vanfossen.kelli@gmail.com

We did Disney with a 2 year old and an 8 month old last March (and we live an hour and a half outside of Orlando), so we only for one day. We went to Magic Kingdom, and it was perfect! The kids were young, so we didn't do any shows, but we did stop to meet a few characters, which was the highlight of my two-year-old's day! There are lots of low-key rides in Magic Kingdom that we could do with a toddler and baby. So fun! I could also see doing Epcot and eating/drinking your way through the different countries. Lots of options!

ReplyDeleteWe got to Disney every year since my inlaws are part of the vacation club. We took a 3 year old last year and she loved it! We went to every park but if you only have two days I would do Magic Kingdom and Epcot. Animal Kingdom is just a glorified zoo and while I love it if I could only go to two parks I would do those! Epcot has the frozen ride and you probably can't get a fast pass this close to your arrival date we got there when the park open and went straight to the ride in norway and only waited 30 minutes!!!
ReplyDeleteWe took our daughter (who will be 3 in June) on a last minute trip last March to Disney for 2 days last year. We definitely did Magic Kingdom because there was so much to do! We also did Hollywood Studios. We decided to take her there because they have the Disney Jr. section. We watched the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Show and outside you can meet some of the characters (when we were there it was Sofia the first, Doc Mcstuffins, Minnie, and Jake). She also loved the Frozen sing along show. Plus there were some adult rides (Rockin Roller Coaster, Tower of Terror) where my husband and I could ride by doing the child swap option they offer. We love Disney and are itching to get back, but we're expecting another June baby, so maybe next year! :)

ReplyDeleteThere are plenty of travel agents that specialize in Disney (I used one through AAA) that are free. They are a great resource :)
DeleteI highly recommend the Disney Cruise for Camille's age. It is so much fun and the Character meet & greets are so much better than the parks. I'm happy to answer any questions you might have about them. P.S. I'm not a travel agent. I just enjoy the Disney Cruise - HA!
ReplyDeleteI've been on a carrot kick lately and those look delicious. I recently bought a bag of organic carrots at Costco that had orange, white and PURPLE carrots. Wouldn't those be lovely made like that?! Our daughter gave my husband a cute little wooden sign with that Disney quote on it about 5 years ago and it's on his bathroom counter. ❤️ I think I could get behind those apple nachos😉 I make a version of that just on thicker slices...YUMMMM! ReplyDeleteWe went to Disney Nov/Dec of 2016 with 6,5, and 1 year old girls. So princesses were our theme. Did all the parks but Animal Kingdom, and Magic Kingdom twice. Totally worth the two days!! Use your fast passes to see princesses; best advice I can give!! Epcot has TONS of princesses but you just wait in line to see them; however totally worth it to our girls. Bring your own lunches and drinks into the parks and buy snacks or treats there. Saves lots of money and time!

ReplyDeleteDisney!! Yay!! We've never been but are planning a trip this fall! Those carrots look amazing! The one healthy side dish my kids always eat is maple glazed carrots so I wonder if this will go over well. So cool about the mystery shopping. Can I be a mystery Amazon shopper?! I'd be awesome ;) - although I guess they do have their own form of that I just haven't been lucky enough to get asked.
ReplyDeleteWe're Passholders (such a short flight from Charlotte!) and have been going regularly since my daughter was 2-1/2 years old. If you're going for two days, I'd spend one day at Magic Kingdom (and focus mainly on Fantasyland) and, if you have a second day, one day at Hollywood Studios where you can see all of the Disney Junior characters, including a really fun live puppet show. I could type for hours, so if you have specific questions, just ask! We've been about 20 times in the last 3-1/2 years. (Oh geez. That's right, but geez.)
ReplyDeleteOh - and Anna and Elsa are at Epcot (though that's not the greatest park for toddlers unless you MUST see Anna and Elsa) - but Olaf is at Hollywood Studios!

ReplyDeleteNatasha at Hello Happiness did a week of very indepth posts about their Disney trip - believe it was this past fall. Should be a great resource. Friends go on the cruise every year with their (3) girls - 10, 8 & 5 -and they LOVE it - it's extremely expensive, but well worth it.
ReplyDeleteThis is a great hotel just an eight minute drive to all the parks. We prepaid and got it for 50 a night and it was a steal. Very clean and updated. I just couldn't see spending all the money to stay on property and everyone has told me the shuttles are so slow. ReplyDeleteWe love Disney but it is exhausting! Kids are free until they turn three. We went with a 1.5 year old and a 4 year old. Then again at 5 and 7.5. Enjoy the princess stuff!! I miss those days. Hilton Bonnet Creek is great and has a lazy river. We used points so it was free. First time we stayed in park at Bay Lake Towers. Pros and cons for both! Have fun planning!
