Five On Friday

It's time for another edition of Five on Friday and I do hope you'll join along!

Remember, all you have to do is post about five things on your mind, add our logo (found at the bottom of this post), and join the party using the linky tools below. Easy, and a great way to find new blogs and be found. :)

We had some nice time outdoors yesterday with Camille's wagon, and I just LOVE this photo ... Camille's silly smile! Sleeping Charlotte (standard, ha!) :)

Charlotte is still sleeping in our room and we recently received the new white noise machine that will eventually move with her to the nursery. This Lectrofan was a gift from my parents, and after hearing such rave reviews on it (I was debating between that one and the Dohm), I see what all the fuss is about! It really does put out a great white noise and the volume has the ability to go quite high.

The new show I'm watching and loving? Below Deck Mediterranean! Anyone else tuning in? And of course, my very favorite show is now back on, Southern Charm. It can get messy on that show, but I love seeing glimpses of Charleston. And hearing what gems come out of Shep's mouth.

Ian and I are so excited to have a nice Friday night at home. We are going to make pulled chicken soft tacos using some of a rotisserie chicken that a girlfriend brought to us last night (such a great idea for a new mom meal ... she paired it with grilled veggies, slaw, chocolate cake and wine!). It will be a Cinco de Mayo dinner of sorts :) I'll likely pair the chicken soft tacos with refried beans and ... MARGARITAS. Right?!

It's always Time for Tacos | Typography + Design... + Tacos:

Moms of toddlers ... do you know about Water Wow? My friend Justine sent a care package to me recently that had the alphabet pad in it. This is the BEST little activity ... I kid you not, it has held Camille's attention for longer than ANY other art or craft activity. A little water is all you need to turn the white pages colorful, but there are no messy paints that could spill or make a mess. Better yet, when the water dries, the pages go back to white and are reusable over and over again. GENIUS. Since water is all that is needed, it could even be a great activity for long car rides.

Pssst! They are on sale today for $11.99 for this three pack on Amazon ... a great deal.

TGIF y'all, and hope you will join in on Five on Friday this week! Cheers to the weekend!

  7. Hi April! I've been reading your blog for a bit, but have yet to comment and decided that today was the day. :) I so look forward to reading your posts, they're just so refreshing when it seems like so many other bloggers that I once really enjoyed for a similar blog style have turned to nothing more than constant product shilling and rstyle links. Thank you for keeping it real! The Water Wow packets are LIFESAVERS with wiggly toddlers/preschoolers - one of those "Why didn't I think of that??" products for sure. Congratulations on your sweet new addition!

  8. Love that first photo of the three of you. And just watched your snapchat about Charlotte at Harris Teeter. I feel your pain - Madeline has been projectile spitting up since she was about three weeks old. They ruled out milk protein allergy and pyloric stenosis and stenosis and just say it is reflux. It is finally improving now that she is 11 weeks so hopefully Charlotte's will be short lived, also. Lots of laundry in the meantime.

  11. You make it looks easy having a newborn and a toddler! I don't know how you do it. :) Great to know about the Water Wow (will definitely be remembering that for the future)! Also, I will have to check out Below Deck Mediterranean. I loved the first two seasons of Below Deck. Yay for guilty pleasures!

  12. So you might want to buy another Lectro Fan. ;) I never needed white noise until I had my babies in my room and used them. When my first moved to the nursery....I found I couldn't sleep in silence anymore! So we have a giant fan that I run (I can still hear my baby monitors btw). I even have an app on my phone called BedTime Fan (awesome when traveling or in a pinch)! I just bought the Lectro fan on your suggestion as my big fan just died! Thanks!
