Holiday Gift Guides: Question For You

Christmas inspiration...:

In the past, I have always loved holiday gift guides -- a peek into what people own and love, what they love to give, and what they plan to give this year. But I know that gift guides are all over blogs these days and they may just not be your cup of tea. So ... here's where I turn to you!

Do you enjoy holiday gift guides? What sort of topics would you be interested to see covered, if so (baby, toddler, girlfriends, gifts for guys, stocking stuffers, etc)?

What to you constitutes a GOOD and helpful gift guide?

  2. I love your gift guides! If you'd like to do one for baby to help out this first time mom who has no clue on what toys and knickknacks are worth buying, that would be amazing! Happy Thanksgiving!

  5. Gift guides are always good - as long as they are priced appropriately and have unique suggestions. I always stumble on what I should get my direct reports and my one colleague. I want suggestions that are unique, preferably unisex and under $20. I think this is what most people are looking for. We know what to get our best friend and boyfriend - but not what to get his sister. The key chain you profiled this weekend is a perfect example. I plan on buying four of them!

  6. Yes to the gift guides....definitely baby and toddler ones! I'd also love to see what's on your personal wish list! Sometimes hearing what someone else wants gives an idea for a present for others.

  7. I'm always a fan of gift guides. Of course, I think my husband is one of the hardest people to buy for. I would love to see a gift guide for the "man that has everything" or a "best of" for subscription services for men (or women!)

  11. Gift guides are always super fun! I inevitably find something I hadn't seen or known about before. I agree with some comments above - a gift guide for affordable options sounds like fun (maybe a $50 and less gift guide or something!) Can't wait to see what you come up with!

  12. To be frank: NOT loving the gift guides this year unless they include a legitimate explanation from the blogger as to WHY this item is so very fabulous/their family enjoys it. Carolina Charm did a nice job with hers recently for gifts for the littles. I like ones for kid stuff where the blogger explains why their particular children like the heck out of an item and ones for men as I find it hard to shop for my husband with a similar explanation.
I cannot STAND (and I mean this strongly) the ones with picture and after picture that doesn't even include the name of the item and simply has a "1, 2,3" link that is an affiliate link where the blogger in question makes no obviously discernible note of this fact. I perceive these as a "gimme" on the part of that blogger and it turns me off. I am all for affiliate links if you're open and up front about it and you tell me WHY I should buy this item. You do an excellent job of this so please keep up the good work.

  13. I LOVE gift guides with reasonably priced gifts...I usually have a good idea of BIG gifts, but I LOVE finding stocking stuffers and other small gifts ($25 - 50). You have great taste, so I definitely look forward to yours!
