Tuesday "THINGS"

I remember learning in high school English class that one of the most overused and absolutely unnecessary words in our language is "THING" ... almost every single time, it can be replaced with a more descriptive or intentional word. I don't know why, but that lesson just stuck with me.

Well, today's schmorgasbord of a blog post is going to be titled Tuesday "THINGS" and we will just leave it at that!

Thing 1
The Book Thief virtual reading group ... I loved your #adventuresinreading hashtag idea! So, if you are reading this book with me this month, feel free to put a photo on Instagram with that hashtag so we can see who else is reading along. (Your account would need to be set up as a public, non-private account for me and other people to find you.)

Thing 2
I am so excited to share an update with you on the gel topcoat I've been loving. I picked up Essie's Miami Nice shade the other day and it's currently on my toenails. One coat of the gel topcoat and it has taken an at-home pedi to a salon-pedicure quality. I'm waiting just a little more time to see how this second cycle of the topcoat goes and how long it lasts ... can't wait to share! You know I love finding a great beauty item and spreading the word!

Thing 3
Just a quick reminder of the $100 VISA gift card giveaway that I've got going on right now ... have you entered for a chance to claim it? I am so happy that one of my readers will be receiving this! All you have to do is comment on THIS POST with a cute/memorable baby anecdote ... your baby, your niece/nephew/grandbaby, your neighbor's second cousin's baby, you name it. This is one of the easiest giveaways to enter ... getting in the drawing will take you maybe ten seconds. And who doesn't like to read about the cute things babies do?!

  1. I got that Essie gel coat last week and I'm OBSESSED! Working in health care I wash my hands approx 500x a day. This has worked so well and preventing my polish from chipping off the next day!

  2. I picked up the Essie gel coat over the weekend! I'm on day three! There weren't any instructions for removal so I am assuming (hoping) acetone nail polish on a cotton ball, just as you would with normal polish? That would be the most ideal instead of the process at the salon that I am all too familiar with. Has anyone tried to remove it yet?
