We are back from our little family getaway to the mountains. That time off was good for the soul. I didn't bring my work phone and I just allowed myself to truly disconnect. When Camille is in daycare during the weekdays, I miss her so much! This time was seriously precious and Ian and I loved spending all day just loving on her and laughing with her. Also reconnecting with each other ... so important.
I have lots of photos to share from our trip and will do so this week. A few random notes this Monday...
+ I'm sucked in to the trainwreck that is The Bachelor. And I can't wait for tonight's episode. On Andi's season, I thought Chris was a sweetheart. But (sorry for letting my prude colors show here), he kisses too many girls WAY too early on. And for that, I now think he's a little gross. Major turnoff.
+ The aqua cardigan/wrap I'm wearing above is a new purchase from Nordstrom thanks to a rave review from two people ... Katie from Miss Dixie and also my mom! Mom bought a heathered green one a few months back and has just loved it. They have so many beautiful colors available and I ordered two -- water gently blue and the purple vine burnout one (which is less than $20). I love these wraps and they look great buttoned or open. The aqua one I have is thicker and more of a fleecier-feel on the inside which is really comfortable. Looks great paired with black, too. Love shopping at Nordstrom because they have free shipping (and free returns, too). I've got my eye on that plaid one next.
+ The Superbowl is coming and all I can think about is FOOD and COMMERCIALS. Really just the food. I've got a few fun appetizers planned and I will be sharing some of these quick + easy recipes on our local news here in Charlotte this Saturday morning.
+ A few girlfriends and I have started breaking up our workday by planning a recurring lunch date every few weeks. Our next one is tomorrow and I just can't wait. I always leave these lunches feeling happy and revived, ready to tackle the second half of the workday. To me, nothing beats some good girlfriend time. And tomorrow we'll be at one of my favorite restaurants!
Happy Monday, party people.
Love that cardigan. Glad you had a good trip!
ReplyDeleteI am totally with you on Chris. He is disappointing me. Especially since one of the girls he made out with, he ended up sending home that same night!!!!
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to tomorrow as well! ;)
ReplyDeleteI have one of those wrap sweaters in black and I have loved it. Mom (santa) gave it to me for Christmas. I ordered the coral one last night...I plan to live in them until it gets too hot!
That wrap looks so comfy! I have a serious Nordstrom addiction. I mean, how can you go wrong with free shipping and free returns? Love. I loved seeing all the sweet pictures from your trip on IG over the weekend. Looked like you guys had a great time!:)
ReplyDeleteI 100% agree with your Bachelor comment! He's kissing every girl, every opportunity he gets! It's gross... but they're getting good TV out of it because all the girls are getting jealous. We'll see what tonight holds!
ReplyDeleteyah! im glad you and the family had a great time on your vacation :) annnd im alllll about the food for superbowl! bring it on. xo jillian - cornflake dreams
ReplyDeleteI totally agree about The Bachelor this year. I thought Chris was so sweet, but now I think he is gross and inappropriate.
ReplyDeleteThat wrap is my favorite! I'm with you on Chris even my husband was like why does he make out with all of them!?! Glad you had a good family trip
ReplyDeleteUmm I love that you watch the Bachelor. I thought I was one of the last people in America who watches it! We may need to dicuss at Bunco...but I totally agree with you about Chris!!!
ReplyDeleteLove the cardigan, and the lunch idea is such a good one!
ReplyDeleteSeriously so true about Chris. I actually had a dream the other night that he got kicked off the show and they replaced him or something. It was kind of crazy. That would actually make for the most dramatic season of the Bachelor ever #amiright? haha :)
ReplyDeleteI have that sweater and I love it! (I actually wore it to dinner last night!) I probably need to get it in a few more colors! And I totally agree about Chris!
ReplyDeletelove the idea of the lunches with your friends...that would make every week SO much better!!! and so glad you and the fam had a fun AND relaxing weekend getaway...much deserved
ReplyDeleteWhat a perfect weekend! The need to unplug is just so important.
ReplyDeleteI need weekend escape too. Glad you have had the chance to restart. Love your blue cardigan.

I'm so glad you are loving your cardi as much as me!! I seriously love that thing. And the plaid one...why did you have to show me!!! :)
ReplyDeleteLiterally, as soon as I saw that the purple cardigan was $19, I grabbed my wallet and used up what was left on my Nordstrom GC from Christmas. It was burning a hole in my wallet this whole time, since I couldn't' figure out what to get for such a small amount. I already have one of these cardigans in blue, and gave one to my SIL for Christmas. She loved it. They're soo soft! Thanks for sharing that :)
