Okay, so I really miss our Five on Friday link-up and can't wait for it to be back from summer break! I love seeing who links up with us each week, so I'm getting really jazzed about its return.
Here is my {unofficial} Five on Friday this week. :)

Thank you all for your advice and support with my return to work this past Wednesday. It was not the easiest transition, but the advice I keep hearing over and over is "give it time -- it WILL get easier", so I am focusing on that. I enjoy the opportunity to contribute financially to our family and provide Camille with some really fun vacations way down the road! :)
To celebrate one chapter closing and another chapter opening, we took advantage of the best babysitter in the world (my mom) being in town, and we went out to eat at a great sushi restaurant down the road. Over dinner, I told Ian that as painful as it was to be apart from Camille during the day, it was so nice to be able to have a nice dinner out with him on a random weeknight. This is exactly the sort of thing that we would have had to cut out completely had I not returned to work. So all in all, I think it will be a really positive thing for our family. And never have I ever looked so forward to 5pm in my LIFE! :)

This is my sweet baby around 7am this morning. She is really enjoying being propped up on the Boppy so she can look at pictures these days. It looks like she is holding the book herself, but I assure you she is a typical 12-week old baby :) She does like touching the pages, though! I purchased this book on Amazon for a few bucks after reading so many reviews saying how much the book was enjoyed by babies.

On my wishlist is this Lovecat romper. I think it is just so cute and (this is random) it reminds me of the old-school Peaches & Cream Barbie ... did anyone have that one?! My sisters are nodding their heads furiously right now.
Just for fun ...
Earlier in the summer, I saw Caitlin from Southern Curls and Pearls wearing it and it looked so cute on her! I think she's probably a good bit taller than I am, so I'm hoping the proportions would work on me being only 5'2". I think it would be so perfect for an upcoming bridal luncheon I have for my best girlfriend.

So what do you think, should I pull the trigger on the romper?
Happy Friday to you all and enjoy the weekend!
Love that romper and it's cheap! Go for it! You can wear it next Summer too! I almost want to buy it now! ;)
ReplyDeleteGlad the transition is going well.
My sister had that Barbie and his her from me so I couldn't play with her. So one day I went into her dresser and chopped off all the barbies hair...she learned her lesson real quick. Pretty sure I wasn't allowed near scissors after that! Happy weekend!
ReplyDeleteThat maxi dress you have is to die for! Where is it from?
ReplyDeleteThat romper is adorable and I think you would look fabulous in it! Pull the trigger!
ReplyDeleteI L-O-V-E Rompers, and want one so bad myself...just too scared the pull the trigger. I wish I was going to be able to make the bridal luncheon so I could see it on you!! (Assuming you're talking about the same bride I know getting married soon!!) xx
ReplyDeleteCamille is so adorable! I remember seeing you only a few months pregnant at the Charlotte Social ornament exchange and I can't believe how time has flown by! I also saw Caitlin post this romper a while back and I loved it! You look great post-baby, Pull that Trigger!

Love the romper and totally think you can pull it off! Perfect for a bridal luncheon. :) I always wanted the peaches and cream Barbie! Happy Weekend!!
ReplyDeleteGet the romper! It's a great price, and I think it would look darling on you with your dark hair:) Side note: is Ian a doctor? I noticed the scrubs in the picture with Camille - I can't help it, I always notice scrubs. My husband is a doctor and wears them all day, every day, so we're very familiar with good ol scrubs in our house, lol:)

ReplyDeleteGoing back to work is hard but good for you for realizing that the transition will take time! I am going to have to check out that book! And that romper!! OMG LOVE! Yes--pull the trigger! I love a good romper!!
ReplyDeletePull the trigger, that romper is almost as cute as Camille! Good luck with your transition and have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteAs a fellow working mom, it will get better! Promise! It's super hard in the beginning, but if your babysitter/daycare provider (your mom?) takes pictures and sends them to you during the day showing how much fun they are having, it is easier too. I absolutely love seeing my boy happy while I'm at work. Reassures me that I made the right decision to go back to work :)
ReplyDeleteit's a resounding yes on the romper. throw on some wedges and you're set! and if you ever get a hankering on fridays to link up...you just pop over to my blog. a friend and i tried to pick it up for the summer where you gals left off. we just couldn't give it up for the summer months. :) http://farmerbell.blogspot.com
