We had a wonderful weekend at the lake with my mom's side of the family, and although the weather was pretty yucky, we found other fun ways to occupy ourselves. Camille didn't get to wear her swimsuit on this trip, but I just can't deny you of how precious it is. Here we are the weekend prior at the neighborhood pool.
I resume working this Wednesday (womp womp), so today and tomorrow will be pretty busy with doing all of the last-minute tasks on my list and also spending lots of time just taking in sweet Camille and loving every minute we have together, just the two of us.
This maternity leave has FLOWN by. I love how I thought I would be watching all episodes of Scandal during my leave. I haven't watched a single darn one.
We have stayed busy but balanced that out with lots of time just cuddling on the couch, walking the yard, and relaxing on the back screened porch. I could be quite happy staying home with her and not returning to work, but at this point in our lives, we feel my return to my career is the best decision for us. I'm also really excited to help provide financially for her. I've worked hard to get to where I am with my job, and the opportunity to continue that for the foreseeable future is a blessing.
But for now, I'm going to soak up every single precious moment with this babe. :)
She is a precious beautiful babe!! Enjoy these next two days and best of luck in a smooth transition back to work!
ReplyDeleteAw. hugs mama!!!! Fingers & toes crossed for a smooth transition! Bravo for choosing a mid-week start! I hear it makes the transition a bit easier!
ReplyDeleteHA! I was sooo mistaken about what maternity leave would be like. I too thought there'd be dvr catch up and home projects going on. bahhaa Not so much... Smart move, starting back mid-week, won't be quite as miserable easing back in. Go eat up sweet baby snuggles for the next 48 hours!
ReplyDeleteSoak it up!
ReplyDeleteAw it must be bittersweet to go back to work! I'm sure your time with her has been precious, and you will continue to make memories even while doing the 9-5 thing. You're such a good mama!
ReplyDeleteAww! Hope you have so much fun these next couple of days & good luck on Wednesday!!
ReplyDeleteSoak up these next couple of days!! I return in January and I already feel like time is flying and she's not even here yet!
ReplyDeleteGood luck going back to work. I am a working mom as well, and it is so hard to leave your baby, but it gets easier I promise.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy these last few days and good luck returning to work! Bittersweet! xo
ReplyDeleteCan't believe you already have to go back to work! :( That really did fly by.
ReplyDeleteThat was quick! Good luck! What did you end up doing about childcare?
ReplyDeleteEmail or text me :)
Soak up every minute these next few days!
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the transition this week. It's nice that you start on a Wednesday so it will only be a short week and then you'll have the weekend to soak her back up!
ReplyDeleteI hope the transition back is easier than you think! I know many a working mom that does it spectacularly. Fingers crossed you find that great balance too.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy these last couple of days, Mama! It's definitely bittersweet when that leave ends and work begins. But you can do it! And Camille will be just fine:)
ReplyDeleteIt's over already!!! OMG. Enjoy these last 2 days. And then at least you go back on a Wednesday instead of a Monday :)
ReplyDeleteWell that flew by, I feel like she was just born! I found that working part time away and working from home on my own schedule is the best balance for me. Good luck- you will do great!
ReplyDeleteI hope you have a fun filled two days and that your first day back at work goes well!
ReplyDeleteSuch a cutie, April! Good luck getting everything done on your to-do list and spending extra quality time with your little babe. :)
ReplyDeleteSo glad y'all had such a fun weekend! I'll be sending happy thoughts your way on Wednesday. :)
ReplyDeleteAww good luck tomorrow! I'll warn you, the first month is really hard but it gets SO much easier with time! The baby gets sturdier, you get reassurance that they are happy and heathy and safe, and you get in a routine wish washing bottles/pump parts, sleeping, getting up early, etc. If you need a pep talk, you know who to call!:) Good luck and have a great first day back!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your time together! What a fabulous picture! xoxo Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteHope you're soaking in all those last minute snuggles!! It will get easier as the weeks go on!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy these last few days momma! Time always flies when you desparately want it to slow down!
