One of the best part about maternity leave has been setting lunch dates with friends. This week we had a very fun lunch with Christina and sweet Caroline, and the wee babe was so awesome ... she slept most of the whole lunch!
This was a true SUCCESS because here are the girls just one week prior at their first lunch date.
Ummmm, whose baby is that on the right... #timetogetasleepsheep

My mom, two sisters and I are participating in a 30 day challenge ... guts and glutes is the name of the game, and might I say that this "theme" is quite timely for a new mama! Admittedly, I haven't been the best so far in following the plan, but I plan to get serious about it.
I did meet the goal yesterday.
Yesterday was the Rest day. ;)
If any of you want to join in and help keep me accountable, contact me and we can keep each other accountable to the challenge via emails!

My breakfast of choice these days is overnight oats. These are so very easy to make. On Sunday afternoons, I'll go ahead and put together five mason jars of the oats and then just keep them in the fridge. Then, all I have to do each morning is grab a jar and a spoon. Easy! I posted here about the basic recipe, and the main tweaks I've made recently are that I am using quick oats, organic cow's milk, and different add-ins this time around. My oatmeal this morning contained dried cherries, dried apples, cinnamon, flaxseed, coconut, and walnuts.

We had bath time last night for the little one, and I can't rave enough about the Noodle & Boo line. A girlfriend of mine turned me on to this line of baby bath products. The scent is amazing -- I just want to bury my nose in her hair all night after her bath. It's a little more expensive than traditional baby bath products, but I wanted to start Camille off with the best of the best. I'd highly recommend this large bottle of the Newborn 2-in-1 Hair and Body Wash ($18 here). I find that these products are also great gifts at baby showers because it's a nice splurge that the mama might not make for herself.
Your turn to link up, ladies -- I'd love to read your five! Any five things on your mind will do. Just link to one or all of the hostess sites and insert the logo below. Then link up with us and you are set. :)

ReplyDeleteThat guts and glutes challenge looks intense!!!
ReplyDeleteI've never seen that baby shampoo/body wash...I might have to gift it to somebody soon :) I tried the Arbonne baby line and disliked it very much - small bottles, $19 each and wasn't very moisturizing. I'm sure that bottle will last forever seeing as it's so big!
have a great weekend in the mountains! i love that you can have lunch dates with friends (with babies!) xo jillian - cornflake dreams
ReplyDeleteI just have to tell you, you are such a beautiful and glowing new mama! She is so precious. Have a good weekend :)
ReplyDeleteYou should be cautious about jumping into ab work/crunches so early because your abdominals are still coming back together after being stretched apart for so long! Just FYI :)
ReplyDeleteYour little lady is just so precious!

Have a great weekend at the Mountains! What I would give for a weekend away!
ReplyDeleteI'm such a picky eater, I'll make the overnight oats for hubby, but I won't eat them myself. Now donuts ... I just feel I should really support the holiday, you know?
ReplyDeleteI SO need this challenge-trying to get in pre baby shape too! Would love to join in-thanks for posting!
ReplyDeleteI keep forgetting about overnight oats. I need to start making these again.
ReplyDeleteI love overnight oats! Seriously the best and easiest breakfast when you have a newborn. Or any age kid for that matter. Do you ever dollop a nut butter on them? It's my favorite part. I'll do a dried cherry one with Dark Chocolate Dreams peanut butter on it. Soooo good! Almond butter is great on them as well.
ReplyDeleteI love overnight oats. I usually have shakeology for breakfast since it's so quick and packed with protein but those are a nice change of pace. And never boring! I can't wait to check out the bath line! I love getting mamas-to-be things they wouldn't get themselves! I may have to splurge on it for our little guy coming soon!
ReplyDeleteYou better believe I got my donut last week! Did you ever get the sleep sheep? We absolutely love ours for in the car and out and about!
ReplyDeleteAwww, yay for your girls night tomorrow!! You are certain to look fabulous, mama! :) Also - Camille in that first pic...her little wrist flipped like, "Hey y'all. I know I'm gorgeous." GOSH she just melts my heart. What a beauty!!!!! xx
