Five On Friday ... Friday the 13th!

Hey girlfriends, we made it to the weekend, and you know what that means ... the most fun link-up day ever! As always, I hope you'll join me along with DarciNatasha, and Christina.  Playing along is simple. Just write a blog about five things on your mind today, anything goes really, post the logo below on your blog, link back to one or all of our blogs, and then enter your post address below in the link-up section below. Easy peasy. So here we go!

Helloooooo, paradise of the South!  Shortly I will be Charleston-bound and I just can't wait. We are staying at a fabby-fab hotel and the grand finale of the weekend will be a very pretty wedding.  I still have to figure out what to wear, but I'm just thrilled for the weekend to begin!
Charleston - there's a cool restaurant missing off this map, but other'n that...

Girlfriend dinners.  Monday night I happened to be in the same city as one of my besties!  We met at Lucky 32 in Greensboro for dinner and had the best time just chatting, giggling, catching up, sharing stories. My dinner was awesome - cornmeal crusted catfish, pintos with chow-chow, deviled eggs, and green beans. I think you call that kind of dinner a SUPPER.  Tell me that isn't mouthwatering!

Going organic (mostly).  I have been making a big effort to go organic on fruits and veggies recently. This week I was out of town three nights for work, so I chopped up peaches and stored them in Tupperwares to bring to the hotel since I knew there was a fridge in the room. So much better than relying on hotel food and restaurant food the entire time.  And while organic produce is more expensive, I feel so good about this choice.  An investment into my future.  :)

The foods with the highest pesticides, what's in your fridge?? #organic #health #fitness #type1 #type2 #diabetes #healthyliving

This week I received an email asking for my permission for one of my recipes to be pinned to the Betty Crocker Pinterest page.  Ummm, please, be my guest! The exact pin (found here) is on their Recipes Betty Loves board. What an honor!

Today is Friday the 13th which I sort of love ... am I alone in this one? Maybe I'm a little strange in that regard! Tell me -- are you superstitious? I don't have any qualms about seeing a black cat, but I don't walk under ladders, I leave out of the same door I entered from, and I knock on wood like it's my job.

Friday 13th

Now, your turn!  I can't wait to see your Five On Friday!

PS: I had some questions about the
cute bakery in Greenville I mentioned
last week with the amazing
rosemary shortbread. It is called
the Bakery Off Augusta.  :)

  3. So funny. I make that apple dish but instead of melting the butter, I crumb the butter and the cake mix together with my fingers then sprinkle it on top of the apples. We call it an apple crisp!

  6. Have fun in Charleston! Just up the road from us! And organic... what made you decide to do that? I'm an advocate against organic (just because I was born and raised on a conventional farm) and am curious about what you've seen about the health benefits! :) Have a great weekend at the wedding. Hopefully that cooler weather is on the way!!
