Five On Friday

It's Friday, and I hope you are as jazzed as I am for the 5 On Friday link-up!  Please do join me, Darci, Natasha, and Christina ... it's simple!  Just write a blog about five things on your mind today, anything goes really, and then enter your post address below.  You can get a lot of new eyes on your blog and maybe meet a new friend or five along the way!

So here's my 5 on Friday.  Cheers to the weekend!

I like a deal as much as the next gal (if not a bit more) and I can truly say that this primer is one of the more expensive makeup products I've ever purchased.  Besides skincare items, I can probably name on one hand how many makeup products I've purchased that cost over $30.  I love good makeup but I also have a strange drugstore obsession ... hence my drugstore makeup preference.  But this primer is a very, very good thing and sometimes {I admit} I find myself admiring my rosy cheeks at 5:30pm in my rearview mirror a little too much.  I'm just thrilled and perplexed that I finally found a product that allows my inexpensive blush to last the entire workday in Southern heat and humidity!

That primer brings me to my next love -- Ulta.com.  I absolutely love Ulta stores, but when I purchased the above primer I decided to shop online.  I also needed to restock on my favorite loose powder (which happens to be this L'Oreal one, I wear the color Light Ivory) and Ulta.com had the powders buy one, get one half off.  Plus they had a promotion where I got an adorable gold clutch.  Plus free shipping.  Plus they allowed me to select what type of free samples I got.  Amazing experience ... and who doesn't love coming home to a package at the door?!

I'm not the hugest fan of salads, I mean I like them but I don't LOVE them, but what I do love are summer salads that contain no lettuce.  You know, served chilly with lots of fresh produce and a healthy dose of cheese?  This chickpea, feta and parsley salad is calling my name.  I could easily pair this with some sliced fruit and call it lunch.  Add a glass of white wine and I could call it dinner!

We have a wedding to attend this weekend and I cannot WAIT.  Now, what to wear, what to wear ... time to shop my closet!  I'm especially looking forward to this one because the bride asked me to make her bridesmaids' necklaces.  I can't wait to see the girls wearing their pretty and unique pearl necklaces!

We just completed a somewhat spontaneous patio re-do and I love it!  More details coming soon, but here's a sneak peek of some of the pillows I chose for the new couch (here)!  Plus they are on great sale now too -- don't wait too long!

Your turn ... please do join me and the other gals for the link-up!

  6. My Ulta is next door to my Teeter, so somehow I end up there weekly (sometimes even twice a week - eek!). I am dying to try out the primer!!

  8. I've heard mixed reviews about the primer, talking about how tacky it is. Is it good tacky (like my make-up won't move an inch all day) or bad tacky (like I can't smooth my foundation over it)? I have super oily skin and I would LOVE to have my foundation stay in place all day in this Charlotte heat.

  9. I am NOT a makeup girl - at all - but I have a love affair with all things Benefit! I haven't tried that primer, so I'll have to put it on my list.

Last time I was there I tried "You Rebel" which was a tinted moisturizer and I loved it.

Looks like I could do some major damage the next time I pop in!
