Time for a little "I Confess" session!
I confess...
I bought new tires yesterday. Four new tires. I purposefully didn't look at the receipt when I signed it because I couldn't bear to see that high triple-digit number staring right back at me. Don't get me wrong, I knew how much it cost before agreeing to the deal, but seeing that number again would have killed me. I'm still sick over it. To salt the wound, I found out that had I gotten my tires properly rotated, they probably would have lasted another 10,000 miles before having to be replaced.
{I feel like I exchanged a boatload of life for those tires}
I confess...
I have watched far too many Harlem Shake videos on You Tube than a self-respecting 31-year old working woman should. And I'm not done.
I confess...
I have an utterly unhealthy girlcrush on Lana del Rey. Seriously -- it's bordering on embarrassing. Join me in the girlcrushing.
I have this strange need to go to sleep on a quarter hour ... 10:15, 10:45, 12:30. I know it's obsessive. I think I do it because it's easier for me to compute the very minimum hour I must be waking up in order to get my desired 8 hours of rest. Umm, nerdfest! Type-A much?
I confess...
I've never seen or read Gone With The Wind.
Somebody snatch my Southern card from me.
I'm happy to be linking up again today with Confessions of a Northern Belle! What do you confess?
Buying new tires is the worst! One of those necessary evils! I am the same way about going to sleep.. I always pick a quarter hour.. I do the same thing when getting gas has to end on a 0 or 5.
ReplyDeleteu just inspired me that i'm going to do an "i confess" series too!
ReplyDeleteYay!!1 Link up to my blog!
DeleteThanks so much for linking up! I have never seen Gone With the Wind either! I have always wanted to see it but I never got around to it... also, buying tires makes me want to puke. I need them too!
ReplyDeleteOh man we had to by four new tires for my husbands car last week.... I feel your pain.
ReplyDeleteMy husband had to buy new tires this weekend- it was seriously depressing! All I could think of was the other fun things we could be doing with that money. I too am obsessed with Harlem Shake videos I don't know why but I can't stop watching them!
ReplyDeleteWhatever you do, READ GWTW before you see the movie - both are exceptional pieces of work, but the book of course is exponentially more epic!
ReplyDeleteLove,
This Yankee Who Has Read It And Seen The Movie :p
Girl I have Gone With the Wind saved on my DVR - Love that movie! Now I haven't read the book because it's massive, but it's a classic! When you have about 5 hours to spare you need to watch it haha!
ReplyDeleteBuying anything for your car feels just awful. It feels like money is just floating away! Confession: I've also never read gone with the wind. Looks like we're both stripped of our southern cards *gasp*
ReplyDeleteWho is Lana del Rey?!? I've never heard of her!
ReplyDeleteI need to re-watch Gone with the Wind (I was too little the first time I saw it, I think) and read it myself!
Ugg, I hate paying for car related things. At least you know that you will be safe.
ReplyDeleteAlso, I've never seen all of Gone with the Wind. When I was in elementary school, my mom let me watch part of it. I was traumatized by some of the scenes so I didn't finish it. I've never attempted to watch or read it since.
Never seen GWTW?! That, my friend, you need to get on!
ReplyDeleteIn fact, I'm thinking of doing a post soon about the movies I'm going to require Miss Shelby to see and that's top on the list.
My MOm forced me and my b/f/f to watch it in jr. high. I wasn't happy about it but we both were taken back at just how awesome it was/is!
These confessions are fun to read. I get so upset when I have to pay for car repairs or parts so I feel your pain. I'm not familiar with Lana del Rey but her hair is amazing. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm going to have to look up this Harlem Shake thing on You Tube. I'm old and out of touch, I guess ... but its about the 4th time I've heard it mentioned this week and I have no idea what it even is!
ReplyDeleteHere goes another Southern card! I thought I was the only Southern girl who hadn't read or seen Gone With The Wind. Glad I'm not alone!
ReplyDeleteYou NEED to watch Gone with the Wind. Really. And we just bought new tires for my car too! Ouch, costs way more than I thought they should have...
ReplyDeleteI have never read Gone with the Wind either!
ReplyDeleteI hate paying for car repairs! Thanks for linking up - looks like my first comment didn't go through!
ReplyDeleteIn 2012 I had to get four new tires, new brake-pads and a new raditaor. I still cry whenever I think about spending all that money!
ReplyDeleteI have never seen gone with the wind either :( bad southern
ReplyDeleteTires really do cost a lot, and sometimes it's really hard to face the fact that you have to spend a hefty amount of your savings for them. But the trade-off you get for spending a huge amount is safety on the road, and being confident that you wouldn't experience any trouble while in the middle of the highway. I suggest to have your old tires reinstalled and have the new ones as spare. Good day! :)
