E.L.F. Loves and Wishlist

When it comes to makeup, I know that I love to hear about a good, inexpensive find.  So today I want to share a few of my favorites with you!

I have been so pleasantly surprised at many of the e.l.f. products that I've tried.  I buy mine from Target, and you just can't beat the low prices.  Most of what I buy is $1 or $3.

My tip-top favorite e.l.f. item?  Probably their $3 eyebrow kit.  It contains a dual-sided small brush that can be used for the powder filler (which I use on the inner parts of my brows, closest to the nose) and the gel filler (which I use to define the arch and fill in the outer brow area).

Other e.l.f. favorites of mine:

Eyeshadow brush
Mineral eyeshadow primer (crazy happy with this one too)
Oil blotting sheets
Clarifying pressed powder (great for eliminating my afternoon shine)

The Shimmering Facial Whip (available here) gives a slight shimmer to cheekbones.  At a dollar per tube ... it's a winner.  A similar product, Benefit High Beam ($26), was on my wishlist for a while, so I got this $1 substitute and was a happy girl.

I think the HD blush ($3) above has to be the one product of theirs that I am most excited to try, and I really can't wait to pick it up soon.

Funny anecdote on the blotting sheets -- during my sister's wedding in the warm South Carolina month of September, I kept these on hand while we were doing the big group pictures.  I persuaded some of the groomsmen to try them with the strict promise that it was "not makeup."  They were so dumbfounded and impressed with these sheets and how they work!  They took off some of that heat-induced shine, ensuring that the boys were camera-ready too :)

Have you tried the e.l.f. brand? What's your favorite inexpensive makeup item?

  1. Their lip plump/primer duo is to die for. Long lasting smooth lips that doesn't smudge for $3 sign me up! Go get some now. The only prob is its never on the shelf. Guess that's good for them tho!

Come say hello & maybe follow me?

  2. I've never tried it, but I've been really in the mood for some new makeup so now I will try it out! LOVE the price point! I just bought a new Laura Mercier lipstick that looked way better in the light in the store then it did when I tried it afterwards in real life.. $26 down the drain, ugh!

  6. Love E.L.F. But Target is always sold out! What color do you purchase for the eyebrow kit? I have similar coloring to you and was thinking of ordering a kit online.

  7. I have brief experience with the elf brand, since Targets aren't super convenient in NYC. BUT I've liked what I tried, and a friend visited last fall with a truly fantastic muddy/espresso nail color from elf that was the EXACT shade I had been craving for weeks and could find nowhere.

  8. I love, love, love the ELF brand. I use a lot of it - particularly the eyeshadows. Although most of the Studio line is pretty decent (especially for the price), my favorite are the brushes.

I do love that eyebrow gel kit you mentioned -- use it daily :)

  9. Hmmm I wonder how the mineral eyeshadow primer differs from the regular eyeshadow primer here? I like the primer when I first apply but it doesn't do the job all day. Are you still loving the face primer?

  10. I'm pretty impressed with the E.L.F. brand--I've only tried their HD Powder and Kabuki Brush--but I love it...especially the price! Benefit High Beam is one of my favorite products, so I'm excited to give the E.L.F. dollar version a try. TGIF. oxo

  13. I've never tried e.l.f., but I've heard great things (from you included), so I'll have to give it a try. My favorite inexpensive brand is Revlon, although I like to stick to Bobbi Brown or MAC. Love your blog! I'm your newest follower; feel free to stop by and follow back if you get the chance :) Happy Friday!
