I have a pretty neat birthday -- it's January 1. I get to start every new year as a different age. It makes setting resolutions really fun because you can start each age with a clean slate.

Before I am through with 29 (which has been a heck of a year), I wanted to put together a fun list of 30 things to do in the 30 days of November. Throughout the month, I'll keep you posted with what I've accomplished! So without further ado...
1. Come up with a great soup recipe & share it
2. Donate 5 things to Goodwill
3. Treat myself to a massage
4. Finally try Pure Barre (this was on my summer bucket list - never did it!)
5. Share a great family recipe with you
6. Pay a visit to our local library
7. Order Christmas cards in a timely fashion -- no procrastinating!
8. Enjoy a $10+ bottle of wine on a regular ol' weeknight
9. List 5 new items on my A. Liz Designs Etsy website
10. Give spinning another shot. Totally swore that one off.
11. Call a store manager to report superb customer service
12. Read a book
13. Upload a vlog
14. Make a new Christmas wreath
15. Host a really fun blog giveaway
16. Attend a yoga class
17. Start a white vinegar & water bottle to clean more "greenly"
18. Send a friend a letter just because
19. Take some steps to (finally!) change my name & become Mrs. R!
20. Find a new blog I love and post about it
21. Take a half-day at work just for my own mental health
22. Get a haircut and try something a little new!
23. Organize a craft night with girlfriends
24. Pay for a person's drive-thru order behind me in line
25. Write separate letters to Mom and Dad about fun memories
26. Show you a room in my house
27. Enjoy my first Starbucks red cup of the season
28. Write a guest post
29. Share honeymoon pictures with you all
30. Celebrate my first blogoversary on November 18!
Think I can cross everything off my list? I will certainly give it a try.
Thank you all for your input with some ideas. Life of Lu suggested a random act of kindness which already lined up with a few of my goals; Steel Magnolia recommended hot yoga, and because I've already sweated my way through that class many a time, I'm going to take a regular yoga class for relaxation; Confessions of a Southern Mama (an IRL friend, Misty!) had the sweet idea of writing my parents letters reminding them of memories from the past almost 30 years; Just Rainbows & Butterflies recommended perfecting a dish (the soup recipe I'm going to create & perfect & share); and I'll be guest posting with Places To Go, Things To Buy!
That's a great list! If you do just a few of those, you'll have some great experiences!

ReplyDeleteOkay, I love this! I read the list in your sidebar, but had no idea you were doing it in 30 days--so great!! I did a post called Cycle 101 when I first started blogging that might help with your #10: http://sundressesandsmiles.blogspot.com/2011/03/cycle-101.html
ReplyDeleteThank you for stopping by my blog this morning! I am so glad you did as it brought me to yours. What a wonderful list. I am almost 2 years ahead of you but wish I had done something like this when it was my countdown. Thankfully I still have a while to wait for "40 before 40." :) Enjoy!
