Halloween Yarn Wreath: DIY It!

I wanted to switch out our fall wreaths for Halloween wreaths.  And because I've never ever ever EVER purchased a pre-made wreath (and pretty much refuse to), I hit up AC Moore and gathered my craft materials.  Gotta love a DIY.

So to make one of your own, you'll need:

• Straw wreath, still in plastic
• Large spool of yarn in the color of your choice
• Tape
• Ribbon for hanging
• Hot glue gun
• Any "accoutrements" you want to add to the wreath
• Glass of red wine, hell, go ahead & grab the bottle.

With the wreath still in the plastic, tape the end of the yarn to the wreath and start wrapping.  Around and around and around ... it gets quite monotonous, I tell you.  But it's worth it.  Drink some wine and keep on wrapping.

Once it is completely wrapped, simply tie the end piece of the yarn to a wrapped piece of yarn and tuck in the end of the knot.  Then cut a piece of ribbon to tie in a loop and hang on your wreath hanger (a 3M hook in my case), and then cut another piece of ribbon to tie into a bow.  Wired ribbon works great because it holds its shape so well.  I hot-glue gunned black and orange tarantulas to the bottom of each of my wreaths.  Ta-da!
