Five On Friday

It's time for another edition of Five on Friday and I do hope you'll join along!

Remember, all you have to do is post about five things on your mind, add our logo (found at the bottom of this post), and join the party using the linky tools below. Easy, and a great way to find new blogs and be found. :)

It has been so crazy witnessing the local drama surrounding our mall's Santa display (you can catch up here if you're so inclined). Basically, they stripped away the plush velvet seat, the Christmas trees, the red and green and gold, and replaced it with something that ended up with a pretty ICY reception. A frozen glacier! Um, no. A petition started making the rounds and our mall quickly reversed their decision and broke down the glacier to go back to the traditional set-up. Between that and the Red Cup Saga of 2015, it seems like people really want to embrace their beloved holiday traditions. It was good for a chuckle -- and we are planning to go elsewhere for our Santa photos anyway, so it didn't make a difference to me!

I've seen other bloggers mention how much they are enjoying The Affair -- I'm on the bandwagon. I've been watching it on Showtime On Demand. Great second season, and it's not too late to catch up on the first season's episodes if you haven't started it yet and are looking for a suspenseful drama told from different perspectives.

The theme of this week: bows bows bows. I've been working on making bows daily and fulfilling orders! We are still working on custom bonnet orders as well and keeping up our Etsy shop, The Tipsy Bunny. Local readers, we will be part of a really awesome holiday market coming your way on December 12th -- I'll definitely share more details as we get closer to that day.

I scored some major Bella Tunno finds at the pop-up market they have going on now in Morrison Shops. I've never owned or used a diaper bag, but I treated myself to one yesterday! Two of my girlfriends have the very same one and they rave about it. I texted to ask if I could join their gold diaper bag mafia. ;) The sale ends today for anyone looking to score some awesome baby items as well as womens' clothes, shoes, and accessories from local boutiques.

A quick reading update ... I am STILL working on The Book Thief. I'm enjoying it but I'm not making my way through it as quickly as I would like. Some of you shopping for men this holiday season may be interested in what can be found on my husband's nightstand. He's actually reading something I got for him for Christmas last year! He's almost done with In The Garden of Beasts and has really been enjoying it. Buying for guys can be tough, but he loved this gift.

TGIF y'all, and hope you will join in on Five on Friday this week! Cheers to the weekend!

  7. The Santa display saga cracked me up! I think there was a mall in NY where people went nuts too. Just watched the 1st episode of The Affair. Really liked it, can't wait to see how it progresses.

  8. I read The Book Thief too, and I agree, it does go a little slow at first... but I loved the book and it's absolutely worth it!

  9. It took me a while to get through The Book Thief as well, but it was a super powerful book. And all of this holiday drama is crazy! Talk about forgetting the meaning of Christmas ;) - Svetlana @Life With a Side of Wine
