Naan Pizza & Liebster Blog Award

Who's happy that the weekend is almost here?!  I'm counting down the hours....

Last Friday night, Ian and I had a very low-key evening with some really great food.  He started the evening by biking around the corner to our friend's house so they could kick back and enjoy some cold ones.  I stayed at the house, put on RHoOC in the background, and went to work making fresh basil pesto using basil from a pot on our patio.  And we used it that night in our tasty naan pizza.

Ian had made a Trader Joe's trip on the way home from work in order to grab ingredients ... I just texted him the desired grocery list.  Naan is an Indian flatbread and it is OH-so-good.  From left to right, here are our pizzas: {1} three cheese naan pizza with tomato sauce base -- mozzarella, brie, & parmesan.  {2} pesto base naan pizza with brie and bacon.  {3} pesto base brie with balsamic-sauteed baby bellas, kalamata olives, capers, and mozz cheese.  {4} pepperoni and kalamatas with a tomato sauce base.

They are easy to make -- we just piled on the ingredients and cooked around 10-12 minutes in a 350* oven.

In other fun news, sweet Amanda has given me the Liebster Blog Award!

This award is meant to spotlight 4 bloggers with less than 300 followers that you just adore.  Before I mention my 4, can I brag on Amanda just a little bit?  She is one of my favorite commenters, and she always has something sweet to say.  Her comments are thoughtful and heartfelt.  Her blog Simple Girl, Simple Pleasures chronicles all of her fun life adventures and the small pleasures in life.

So without further ado, I will now turn the spotlight onto these lovely ladies:

Sweet Martha-eque Liz from Splendid Minta
The gal whose kitchen I'd like to raid, Elizabeth Ann from Elizabeth Ann's Recipe Box
My beautiful sister Laura, the Reedy River Recessionista
My home decor-twin (I wish!) Sara from The Fat Hydrangea

Please visit these awesome women at their bloggy homes and give them some comment-luv.

Who's running out to buy naan after work?!
